Hey everyone... Been AWHILE since I've posted here before today... My girl has NEVER riden a bike alone before, and I have been riding for the past 10 years... She asked me if I would take the Drivers Course here in So. Cal. with her, so she doesn't have to do the DMV thing, and they furnish 125cc bikes for the women, etc... I'm gunna do it just to make her feel good, plus, a defensive course on the driving record looks good, too! :) Anywayz, the bikes I have are a `80 GS-450E, which is either the same weight, or a bit heavier than my `96 GSXR 750. She can barely touch the groung on the `96, but can touch perfectly fine on the `80. I was thinking about keeping that bike for her to learn on, and go from there... However, she wants the 750 right off the bat! All the other women out here, what did you first learn on? --- Goobz!

Well I would either go with the '80 or get her a newer GS 500 or SV650 or Ninja 250. I would recommend these for anyone, male or female, as a first bike. Motojoe got Dilly a GS 500 to learn on and they are great bikes. If you could find an old FZR or Kan-o-Tuna 6 then that would work. Go with something cheap and light. Hell NO to the 750, that bike would be way too much for a starting rider with no experience. You want your girl to live don't you? If I had a girl I would get her one of the ones I mentioned.

Give her what ever one feels more comfortable for her and if its too tall adjust the dog bones to lower it a touch i personal wouldnt let me chic ride a cruiser there just ocuward to learn on sport style bikes are easier to ride in my opinion.Specialy for a girl.Well thats my 2 cents

I want my girl to live.. Hmmmm. depends on if she's in a good mood, or having a "womanly experience"! :) ha ha.. Isn't the Katana a bit wide for a woman? I know I passed on buying one back in the early-mid 90's, because they were just too damn wide! --- Charles!

well im sure your girl has no problem spreading her legs in the bedroom so whats the difference with a bike? In the bedroom, she can't fall off me and hurt herself! She falls off, she falls onto the bed.. Or when she's tied up, she can't go anywhere... On the bike, there's no way to tie her up to make sure she's safe, and if she falls at 10 or 15 miles an hour cumming to a stop, she's screwed! ;) --- Charles!

i think maybe a ninja 250 would be good if she is a bit skidish.... plus they cheap to find use so you wouldn't ave to loose alot of money on the re sale they like $3500 brand new.. so you can get a used one for around what 1k easy...
