Don’t shoot the messenger,

Yeah it’s a long shot, but think how Suzuki will try and succeed to keep up with Honda if they do release a v4 sport bike. I can hardly imagine what kind of power a GSVR 1000 would have. I think we’re going to see the demise of the 1000cc inline 4 engines in the next couple of year.

Don't shoot me either but I always thought that the Inline 4 engines make more hp then the Vmotors. If i'm wrong someone please explain.

IMO the new liters already have more than enough hp but i'd bet thoses v4's have a pretty meaty torque curve. mmmm...

Wish I knew, hopefully some one on here knows why V4s make more power than I4's. I just always assumed it because if you look at specs of bikes such as Ducatis Desmosedici its rated at about 200 HP then Aprilias RSV4 is supposed to be making over 200 HP and even the Yamaha V-Max which inst even a high performance engine makes quiet a lot of power. I see it as if they could make more power out of I4's then motogp would use I4s and not V4's or V5's like the RC211.

A V-Twin is different than a V4. A V4 puts out more HP than a V-Twin, about the same as a HP as an inline 4... but more torque... I won't even get into sound, 'cause that's no contest in favor of the V4. I'd prefer the V4 any day... but there's only a few bikes that have 'em.

The 2 VFRs on the end of the row are V4s... they're a REAL kick to ride, sure they're older and the brakes are like wood compared to today's, but the engines are amazing. I wish Honda would bring back the V4 in more models.

V-fours are heavy and they can have cooling issues. And they are a pain in the ass to work on. 2 of the cyclinders will always be hard to get to. I had 2, a 1993 VFR 750 & 1985 vf 700. If/when Honda does come out with a v4 1000 it will not be in the same class as a regular 1000 cc sportike. Just a big sport tourer probably.

i doubt they'll launch another sport tourer v4 since they already have the vfr and the st13
