Cali pocket bike laws

My little sis wants one for her bday this week and i was wondering if they were legal? She is 20 and can ge her m1/m2 license if need be but i was wondering if they were legal to ride on the streets / sidewalks?

haha... so does that mean anything over a 50 cc is legal? no. It depends. For example 2strokes are no longer legal. They were, but if you had one from way back and its up to date on registration, it can be street legal. The closest thing to a pocket bike would either be a scooter or a YSR50.

You can street legal a CRF50 or XR50 in Texas...my buddy just added a light kit and horn.

In CA they have to meet safty standards AND have a VIN # in order for them to be street legal... thats because they want to be able to track them and extort reg fee's every year out of you... also in the state of CA it would also need to be insured

yup, i bought it anyways and been ridin it around the house. Ive done 150 on my gsxr and its funny how much enjoyment i get doin 25 on that little thing:thumbup:
