I just (aug 24th) moved to FL and have seen a lot of things on bikes that are a little different than in NJ. So my question is, what are the things that cops will hassle you for down here?
Mainly i want to know:
Are lights on license plates mandatory?
Is there a Db limit on exhausts?
Is there a max chase limit for local cops (i know there isn't one for troopers)?
Must the plate be at the tip of the tail or can it be closer in to the suspension?
Can you cover your plate with the anti-camera plastic like the stuff on car plates?

I have not had a light on my plate since I bought the bike. Just had to cut that ugly as sin rear fender off my k6 1000. Made myself a little bracket and I was done, just needed to mount the plate.
never heard of a db limit or anyone getting a ticket but ALOT of bikes and cars have some LOUD exausts in South FL!
Chase limit probably depends on where you are. I know of a few cities with them, Those who fly in the cities are usually the ones that end up in the paper.
I have my plate under the tail but many put them down by the chain.
I haven't heard anything about covering the plates.
Where ya at? I'm in Broward.

Aloma at 436-aprox. 15 miles from you, police can give "obscured plate" bs and what-not if they are not on the tip of the tail.

Mainly i want to know:
Are lights on license plates mandatory? Yes...somebody got a warning last time we went to Clermont.
Is there a Db limit on exhausts? If you are cruising by a cop at 13K, they are probably going to pull you over...
Is there a max chase limit for local cops (i know there isn't one for troopers)? IDK but there are so many cameras at the lights they will still be able to get your tag.
Must the plate be at the tip of the tail or can it be closer in to the suspension? It's suppose to be visible by 150 feet, so if its stuck under your tail, you might get pulled over.
Can you cover your plate with the anti-camera plastic like the stuff on car plates? Again, if the cop want too, they could probably give you a ticket for the plate not being visible enough...I use to have one on my car and he gave me a $ 10 ticket for it, I believe.

At MMI a guy had a strieghtpipe gsx-r, and the cop did nothing (you can hear him a mile or so away)

its all up to the cops discretion.
with my tags i either hit them with a small layer of black spray paint to take the gloss/reflectiveness out off of it. or clear coat and dirt. then you can just say its road grime.
there is a no chase poliscy in fl
your tag is supposed to be illuminated.
and the tag is supposed to be mounted at the tail and veriticaly, my tags usually on my swingarm though.
