Opinion on 07/08

So, I go into my local dealer to see if he has the 2008 1k's in yet since he said they would get them in around Oct, and they don't have them. I've been patiently waiting to see the 08 white/silver up close. I'm waiting until late Feb to get one since it's my 40th B-day (and will use the tax refund and my company's yearly bonus check, yada yada yada...) Lo and behold, as I'm walking out of the dealership, I see an 07 there in the middle of the showroom with Chrome wheels, and the sign above it says, "All 07's left, going out the door with chrome wheels!":bounce Now, I'm not much on a bunch of "bling" personally, but I'm second guessing my decision to get an 08 when I could get this 07 with chrome wheels already on it! sigh... Don't know if any of you have run into this. Probably have. Decisions, decisions.:hmmm:

I hate chrome on sport bikes.... Leave the chrome to the Harley guys...

It's your bike if ya like chrome then get it. All that matters is if you like it. I wouldn't roll on chrome rims, but I don't dislike them either.

I'm not into chrome, but I think that if you like it and its a good deal than you should definitely get it, in Feb. when you get that bonus money you buy me the new 08, any color will suffice..:thumbup:

If you ride on the street and those are real chrome (not just polished) wheels then go for it. The '08's aren't that much different than the 07/06's. They only changed the body work. If I don't find a used 07 cbr6rr then I might buy a 07 gix 600 because they will be going for invoice in a month or so, nobody wants them when the new plastics are out.

I was surprised that I even thought about looking twice at it since like I said I'm not much into the "bling" stuff, but maaaaan those rims look so clean and rounds that bike out. :clap: He has two 07's left (He "says"). The yellow/black and the blue/white. A friend of mine said he has the black/orange in the back, and would be the only one I'd want in that year. (I could always paint it, which is what I'm doing anyway), but either way, I hope he has some left by Feb. Hell, I could always walk in there in Feb and say, "Hey, I like that 750 there with the Yoshi pipe with about 800 miles on it....but toss in those chrome rims as well..." :thumbup: Damn, this waiting is pissing me off, but I have to wait.....Arrrgh!

As you have already noticed not too many people are fond of chrome on a sport bike... but if you like it go for it!
