Still doesn't have the hp of the 06 GSXR750, but I'd like to work out how I can keep my gixxer and also get one of those.

The duc looks great, but I just don't understand why anyone would pay that much for that bike when you can get a GSXR and trick it out for much less. They are a cool looking machine though. A friend of mine has a 1098 tri-color, and it's a really good looking machine. It should be though for the almost $25K he paid for it.

Did anyone read the specs on the 1098R that things got tractions control and a claimed 180hp http://www.ducati.com/en/bikes/my2008/ModelPage.jhtml;jsessionid=0HVHO4BMEOM1WCRNCB2SFFAKFUIHUIV4?family=Superbike&model=SBK1098R-08

i'm really wanting one. i like the wet clutch, and i like that it comes in white, and i like that its 12k, and i like the front end, and i like the single sided swing arm, well......you get the point..:bounce everyone here is well aware that you can now pick up a used 750 MV Agusta for 9k to 13k right????? i may go that route, just because it will be more rare. you can also pick up the 1000k and the all black spr750 for about 15k. just info to think about. i like the duc, but the agusta spr may look a little more appealing to me......... http://www.auto-evasion.com/fiches-techniques-moto/images_membres/1F4-SPR.jpg

How about the 2008 KTM 1190 RC8? http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/Article_Page.aspx?ArticleID=5540&Page=1 Looks like 848 cut costs on brakes.

well here... first of all, italy has a higher cost of labor compared to japan (forgot where i read exactly) on just about anything. Maybe if they didn't take there 2 hour wine brakes and there 2 months off during the summer they would be able to compete price wise to the rest of the world? but it does look good though!!!! and price difference as some has said is worth a race year in tires

Ducs are so expensive, and really low on performance compared to the other liter bikes. I dont understand why they dont get on board with the rest of the bikes. but damn they look good, i park my gsxr next to a 999 at work. And i stop and stare at it everyday.

On the 1098 it's only a couple thousand more than the jap liter bikes for 180hp and more torque. Not to mention you'll have a bike that people won't be coming up to you every day saying "dis yo bike, yeah i gots one jus like it chromed stretched and dropped wit candy paint, come ridin wit us sometime we hang at insert parking lot here" and that right there is worth every to me. I know people are going to say "my GSXR 1k will walk a 1098 duc and it's cheaper therefore it's better" but IMO the ducati is a better bike on the track when comparing both stock.

I love it. I was hoping Duc would do a smaller bike similar to the 1098. I like the new KTM also. I hope they come out with a smaller version. I would love to have one for the street if I ever ride on the street again.
