Seat Belt Ticket

Does anyone know if a seat belt ticket counts as a moving violation in CT? Just trying to find out if it will have a negative impact on my insurance or not. Unfortunately I was not wearing my seat belt this morning while sitting in stop and go Traffic. Ansonia police walk up and down the lanes pulling people over. Whatever, I broke the law, I deserve the ticket. But if its going to make my insurance go up.. going to send it in not guilty and try to get it thrown out. I am not having much luck lately. 2 tickets in 2 months. One my fault, the other not my fault....

When Riding, I always wear my gear. I guess I have to say 99.9% of the time I do wear my seat because today I did not have it on. Anyway, just looking to find out if my insurance will be impacted or not. So far, the answers I received from my cousin who is cop, says no, and another friend in auto insurance (not my provider) states no. Hopefully it will not. In no way am I complaining that I received this ticket. I admit full guilt.

I keep getting different info... much appreciated! However I am still trying to figure this out. Right now I am not sure. The ct dmv website was not too helpful either.

I wonder if it depends on your insurance company. I have gotten different answers from different people. My cousin, who is a cop, said it is not a moving violation and it should not affect my insurance. Another cop in Seymour told me the same thing. My friend who works for an insurance company in Hartford says no as well, however the gentlemen above me, and my co-worker, both got tickets and says it does. I sent it in with the fee. I will just have to wait and see what happens.

i have progressive. Im not sure if it equates into your policy but it does show up when they search your driving history. Any driving infraction will show up.

HOpe every thing works out for you, but here's my debate. If you are in a car, wearing your helmit, gloves, jacket, pants, and leather over-the-ankle boots, should you be required to wear your seatbelt? Think about it.
