This shop is in Stanton they are good and honest! They have great prices. One of my friends works there part time and he is a good mechanic and makes sure he does the job right the first time. Belenes Motorsports 8402 Monroe Ave. #2 Stanton C.A. 90680. Open Mon. - Sat. 9:00 to 5:30

The Metric Meathod guys are also good how ever and as a bonus they normally clean and lube the chains of all the bikes that are in for service free of charge. they also clean off the downpipes once they drain the oil instead of just letting it burn off like everyone else. I know because i watched them change the oil in a friends bike. they are also open on weekends you want some more suggestions?

How much does Metric Method charge for tune ups? not really sure i do my own work on my bikes... but i think like they said an oil change is $70 (includes the oil and filter) and like i said they clean the chain typically while its up there

Do you agree with that advice? Also, how much is generally saved by doing your oil changes yourself?

Also, how much is generally saved by doing your oil changes yourself? at lot of people suggest that when you have a brand new bike... I supose its best if the really go and check over everything like they are supose to during the first service. I personally never buy brand new because i hate depreciation so i personally never have that issue. I supose for the first tune up it is best to take it to the shop so they can re torque everything if you don't have a service manual to do it your self. As far as oil changes goes it really depends on which oil you use. the filter will cost you between $5 and $15 depending on the filter and you can get suzuki oil (which is most likely what the damn deaerlship uses for like $2.00 a quart and you need 3 of them. I how ever get the motul 5100 and it cost me about $30 for 4 quarts and i always get the K&N filter which cost $12 so a oil change for me cost about $42.00. Plus i don't have to make an appointment take my bike and wait around for them to finish it. i do it when i want to do it either in my garage or on my back/ side yard.

Can I purchase the Motul or Suzuki oil at the local auto part shop, or must it be sourced from the dealership?

Thanks Lyte! Can I purchase the Motul or Suzuki oil at the local auto part shop, or must it be sourced from the dealership? you can buy it from dealerships, cycle gear, small shops etc... but if you take it to a shop unless they don't carry the oil you use they normally have plenty on hand. (its the dealerships that use suzuki brand oil not the smaller shops typically)

I recently bought an 2003 GSX-R 600. The previous owner had not ridden the bike since early Feb. I've been riding it back and forth to work which is from West Covina to Brea. I really want to get a tune up and oil change. I was quoted $280 by Asylum Motorsports for parts+labor. Is that about right? I found that too be kind of alot, but then again this is my first bike. I also need to replace both brakes. Anything closer to me, than shops in South OC? Anything in Fullerton, Brea, West Covina, El Monte, La Puente? Just looking for good, reliable mechanics. I only know of Berts, but I think they charge an arm and a leg.
