lol Awesymoto 01-15-2008, 11:25 PM interesting.... but whenever i think of space two things come to mind...
1. we went to the moon in the 70's and havn't gone past that with humans since and
2. those 1970's comics depicting what life in the year 2000 would be like... OOOOooOOOoOOoOo future future... flying cars, colonies on moon.... ooooOOOooOO yes it happened...
example PIPELINE....

All you need is the money and someone with the forthought to spend it. slaw750 01-16-2008, 12:15 AM 63000 miles.... in an elevator... suck. be sure to load up on baked beans beforehand to make that much more fun Awesymoto 01-16-2008, 09:08 AM be sure to load up on baked beans beforehand to make that much more fun
bahahahahahahahaha
ok assuming even at a blistering 60,000mph top speed it would prob take well over an hour to get to space. and about the time and money thing... yes it takes money and time but what your misssing is the HUGE ammount of $ it takes. brire6 01-16-2008, 02:01 PM And how is that suppose to make the world better? Sounds like someone doing it just to say they did it and having no actual benefit. I sure as hell wouldnt want to take a 63,000 mile ride up and elevator on a cable. +1 km236 01-16-2008, 06:23 PM Pretty cool, but it looks like just one more expense that will all be paying taxes for in the end. redneckrider 01-18-2008, 07:25 AM i read something about this a few years ago. they were discussing the project's feasibility due to its cheaper operating costs than a space shuttle flight. for instance, the transportation of colonizing materials into space with the intent of placing them onto a waiting shuttle for a short, much less expensive and less dangerous flight to the moon or to Mars. the primary purpose seemed more geared toward the shuttling of cargo into space then for any other reason.
i would certainly take a ride on it though.... dementia 01-18-2008, 12:58 PM i'd imagine it wouldnt use cables but somehow use the vaccuum in space to move it. my question is if a terrorist did target it and blew a hole in it in space what would that be like on earth? wonder how much stuff would get sucked through lol aaronass 01-25-2008, 10:09 AM very interesting.....don't the government have better things to spend our money on...like terraism...just my 2 cents | |
