new proposed law against sportbikes Floridagixxer32404 01-30-2008, 06:19 PM http://www.tallahassee.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2008801290337 hayabusaallineed 01-30-2008, 07:06 PM "ride sidesaddle and do "stoppies" (quick stops that cause a bike to rise up on its front wheel) at high speeds in traffic."
:funny::laughingr:lol:
STFU Carlos! Mr645 01-30-2008, 07:53 PM ""Lopez-Cantera insisted his bill is aimed only at stunt riders on sports bikes. He doesn't believe it would affect the average rider of Harley, Triumph, Ducati and other motorcycles.""
So these brands don't have motorcycles powerful enough to do wheelies? LOL
Bottom line is that something has to be done, and as long as riders insist on using I95 as their person stunting and racing grounds, the response is going to be severe and effect all of us. Greyinnam 01-30-2008, 08:03 PM "Lopez-Cantera insisted his bill is aimed only at stunt riders on sports bikes. He doesn't believe it would affect the average rider of Harley, Triumph, Ducati and other motorcycles.
"I've got nothing against those folks," he said. "If I could separate them out of the bill, I would. But I can't.""
Ducati??? If everyone in FL could afford them.... if only.....
I agree with what the replies on the side said..... something to the effect of
"You want me to pull over so you can steal my bike?"
Yeah right..... BoilerGrrrl 01-31-2008, 04:53 AM All this is goning to do is make more bikes run. So if I stay they are going to take my license and my bike and throw me in jail...if I run and they catch me they are going to do the same thing...I'm gonna take my chances.
And to say Ducati's are not sport bikes???? Does this fool have any idea what a sport bike is??? Ducati's are the "king" (just agree for the sake of my argument) of race bikes, they are meant to do one thing...go FAST!! Really freaking fast (and corner well) Ohh wait...since a ducati costs alot the owner is more responsible. Yeah and rich ppl never break the law :shifty Achem Paris Hilton, Keifer Sutherland, OJ...right
Finally...what about cars? WTF this law is so freaking biased that its a form of descrimination! What about the equal protections clause in most state's constitutions? This guy sounds like he has a personal vandetta against sport bike riders. Did your first GF leave you for a guy on a bike....I think so :thefinger
I'm gonna be in Panama City with my bike march 11-14 I say we pick a day and sit outside of the state house and voice our opinons. Anyone who is down....hit me up! If this law passes it sets a precidence other states can use to pass similar BS legislature...everyone should be concerned not just florida residents! roswald21 01-31-2008, 04:59 PM I call bullshit what the hell are people thinking gixxer32404 01-31-2008, 05:28 PM that's why i posted this,i read on here other states already have tried. I think Virginia. I thought the same thing Ducati is or makes sportbikes for endurance. Most people aren't going to agree with us. They say in order for us to be affected we have to get cited 3 times for 50mph above. I say fine,if a mustang gets cited 50 mph three times, the same should apply.
I never have run, but some do, that was one of the supposed reasons....he implied "they know the cops can't catch them", so u increase the penalty and only make it apply to his enemy (the crotchrocket rider), since he don't even know his enemy,b/c ducati isn't a sportbike.lol

Cruise set to claim Ducati bike
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) — Tom Cruise is the first on the list to get Ducati's newest motorcycle — a $72,500 superbike bristling with titanium, magnesium and carbon fiber technology that can scoot up to 200 mph.
Cruise is scheduled to take delivery of the Desmosedici RR at Beverly Hills Ducati this week. Only 1,500 of the red-and-white Moto GP racing replica motorcycles will be made and Cruise gets the first.
Michael Lock, chief of Cupertino-based Ducati North America, said the Desmosedici RR "is the impossible dream — made possible."
"We are delighted to be able to deliver the world's first production unit here in the USA to Tom Cruise, who is a well-known Ducati enthusiast," Lock said in a statement.

BoilerGrrrl I'm about 100miles away from Panama City. I moved back to Tallahassee,b/c police harassment in pc was common. I was pulled over by pc or pcb police one night for no taillights. I told the Officer I knew for a fact they were working. He asked how I knew,I pulled 2 old ones from my pocket, and showed him.I told him I had just replaced w/ brand new bulbs. he said to turn bike back on, then stated well they are working now, so u can go. (they were working when he pulled me.). gixxer32404 01-31-2008, 06:06 PM what if a CROTCHROCKET RUNS A RADAR JAMMER, THEN THEY CAN'T CLOCK HIM AT 50PLUS MPH, ALL THEY COULD DO IS PACE CLOCKIF THEY ARE ABLE TO KEEP UP. gixxer32404 01-31-2008, 06:08 PM http://www.gsxr.com/showthread.php?t=49193 k6_gix 01-31-2008, 08:06 PM Well, my .02 if you want to ride around on one wheel. Buy a unicycle. rollin 02-01-2008, 11:46 PM The prob is that since there are so many fewer bikes than cars we become more noticable. A person can ride in a car for an hour and be passed by a dozen reckless auto drivers but yet the the one motorcycle that passed him is the one he remembers. Bikes are so much more noticable than cages. Just the way it is. But they need to wake up :hammer:and realize those dozen cars that flew passed them are putting them in much much more danger than the one bike. But its too much a phsycological thing and I dont think these idiots will ever understand that:headscrat. == But we can also blame alot of our fellow idiots too for purposely toying with cops or flipping them off and such. Or just doing outright crazy shit in places and in situations they dont belong doing them:hammer:. Its not so hard to pick the right time and place to get a little crazy but some just dont give a crap and that helps ruin it for the rest of us== Anyway it iwould be a bullshit, discriminating, unfair law. :headshake== I donno what the future brings but I guess our grandchildren will be riding 220hp 300lb bikes:D . But they wont make a sound and they wont go over 75mph:headscrat WTF louie8ball 02-03-2008, 11:13 AM The worst thing about a law like this is the fact that 99% of the "violators" will run, resulting in higher death rates for riders and possibly non riders. They need to put a little more thinking into it. In fact, just quite thinking about it at all. Evoluvin 02-07-2008, 02:47 PM that would suck!!!! Theres no way it would pass, and if it would then there would be even more bikes running from the cops! vinny1000 02-07-2008, 03:47 PM There is no way this will pass. Kinda bias to me. Just like they bill a lawyer had tried to pass for the past two years and failed both times. He tried to ban all Crotchrockets from the road. LOL yeah right. evo2nv 02-07-2008, 09:40 PM might as well go big and ban bikes from florida while he's at it Evoluvin 02-09-2008, 03:16 PM ha i own a 03 bby evo, what all do you have done, i have a 35r with bolt ons thats some fun!
might as well go big and ban bikes from florida while he's at it BoilerGrrrl 02-14-2008, 06:51 AM He admitted to consuming numerous alcoholic beverages at a West Lafayette bar and smoking marijuana in the hours before running a red light on July 6, 2007, and rear-ending Osadchuk's car -- throwing it into a ditch.
Tippecanoe County Chief Deputy Prosecutor Kristen McVey said crash reconstructionists determined that Castillo had been driving at least 100 mph.
Osadchuk, who was just leaving work at Subaru of Indiana Automotive Inc., suffered a serious brain injury and had been hospitalized in a coma for several days. He later was treated at a rehabilitation facility in Terre Haute.
Busch also ordered that Castillo's driver's license be suspended for two years after his release.
Ok so this is a local guy who got drunk and drove his SUV at 100 MPH and he got sentenced to 8 years (will serve 4) and will have his license suspended for only 2 years! WTF...ok so drunk driving, reckless driving, and seriously injuring someone...plus being a habitual offender gets a lesser license suspension than doing a wheelie? Right that makes alot of sense! BEAVER SNIFFER 02-15-2008, 07:34 PM This subject has already been brought up. Like I said before, it violates the equal protections clause of the 14th amendment. gixxer32404 05-05-2008, 09:52 PM anyone know the outcome? I have heard it passed and didn't pass...any ideas??? gixxer32404 05-05-2008, 10:48 PM ???anyone know? looks like it passed so fla.bike profiling is coming shortly. | |
