I raced at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway last Saturday. My best time was a 12.17 without hooking up all night. (rear tire sucks!) I have a Dynojet stage I kit, K&N, and a Yoshi rs-3 pipe. Does anyone know what I should or could be running?? I was fairly consistent with a 2003 GSXR 600. I ended up beating him towards the end of the night. He had an RS-3 and K&N as well, but no PC.

That sounds good to me. I have the exact same bike as yours minus the jets. I havent run mine yet and was wondering approx what it could do.

That sounds pretty good but you could prolly be better what was your 60 ft.

I think that person on the 01 was not too good of a rider because them things fly. Your time is pretty good for a 2000 600 (weight and power) 01 gsxr 600 has atleast 10 more hp and is lots of lbs lighter once again good riding :D

My 60' time was 2.2. I have done better than that in a car. The other guy on the 03 wasn't that confident. My rear tire is hosed also. There wasn't one run were I didn't spin 'em.

I need to synch the carbs, dyno it, and change the rear tire. I'm hoping for mid 11's. Does that sound like a reasonable goal??

That can be pretty reasonable if you gear it as well and get your 60 down to atleast 1.9 or better what was your mph anyhow

I forgot to mention I have a 520 conversion on it also. My mph was 115.

with some tuning, better tire, i dont see why you wouldnt easily hit mid 11's drop the rear tire pressure too

Around what pressure should I drop the rear tire to? It never occured to me to do that. I haven't checked mine in awhile either. Maybe I'll do that tomorrow.

i'm not sure what a good psi to run is but i just know from drag racing cars for years that a lower tire pressure will help you with launching...makes for a way better contact patch with the asphalt

audi1031

Take your pressure down to about 20 or so that will help you out also remember to put it back in. sit or put alot of your weight up front also try shifting the least amount as possible less shifts makes for more mph

How will the bike react at higher speeds with that low of pressure in the back? I'll try it this weekend. I'll bring a compressor too.

It won't really change much at high speeds in a straitght line, but in corners it will handle like crap.

That's good to know...I am buying a new rear tire today. I wish my front was worn so I could get a set of michelins, but it has maybe 300 miles on it. I think I'll go with the Dunlops for on more go-round.

yeah hauling ass down a drag strip will not be affected by dropping tire pressure, you'll be fine....

I would run the pressure at about 25. and you only need to do the rear. incase you didn't know.

Anyone know a good place to get tires. The cheapest shop in town has a stock Dunlop radial for $150 with free mount and balance. Does this sound like a good deal? Thanx for all the previous replies. I will post my times after Saturday night.

hey man, not to be ignorant but 12.17 seems REAL low for a 00 gixxer 600. The only reason I say that is because I pulled a 12.24 on my completely stock 01 Katana. I don't know a lot but I would think just working on your clutch technique would take some time off for ya.

12.1 is low. My '01 600ran a best of 11.3 @124 with a 1.8 60' At 12.1 my TA would give you a good run lol
