This may be a repost ,and if so I'm sorry but I have a 07 1000 and I hear all kinds of gixxer owners saying there frames have broke is this something I should worry about or what?I take very good care of my bike, but that don't really matter if it brakes.I'm not saying I don't wheelie it because I do ..But a frame should not brake from a wheelie....

The biggest claimed frame breaking problems were on the 05-06 1000 and the 06-07 600/750, but those were generally run into walls or wheelied very badly many many times. I have not yet seen a single frame that broke while being ridden like a sane person. The frames are not designed to withstand to forces of wheelies, especially when they get slammed back down onto the ground by amateurs who suck at them. They are not designed to be run into walls or mistreated in any way. They are designed to go around racetracks at extremely high speeds. I've been watching AMA and World Superbike races the whole time people have been whining about the frames breaking, and I have not yet seen a frame break on any of those guys. In short, if you don't slam your wheelies into the ground like an idiot, you don't have anything to worry about.

the frame breaking came from squiddo's who crashed their new bikes, and unlike the older THICKER and HEAVIER frames, they broke.... add to that and exaggeration and you have a myth....

My cowling brace broke...causing my whole front fairing/headlight/mirrors to fall off. All because some jackass backed up into me. All in all, I made the person give me 700 bucks...which easily repaired the 160 dollar cowling brace. :)
