Bukaki 06-16-2005, 07:31 AM Here it is. I hit a deer going about 50 or 60 mph. Didn't see it coming. I had full gear on and, if I didn't I would be a pile of meat. All I got was a broken collar bone that actually need's surgery because it's really fucked up. My helmet is smashed and, my jacket is shredded. It suck's but, I could be crippled. I am getting another Gsxr 1000 but, Im going to buy an 03, or 04 used because I dont want to finance another bike. The 05 Gixxer 1000 is the shit though but, I don't think I will finance another one this year.

yellow&black04 07-16-2006, 08:17 PM damn bro glad to hear your ok, i know what its like i live out in the country where my next neighbor is about 2 miles away so i see deer and shit all the time in the road, i've been startled a couple times fortunately i've been lucky. hope you get another bike and get back riding
PacificGSXR1000 07-17-2006, 02:19 AM Dang that hurts. Good luck on the surgery.
If you live around deer and don't take much notice as to where they cross and all maybe try asking a hunting supply place where hunting stands are or other places salt licks and water might be. Deer are pretty much into the basics and have to be pretty startled or headlight frozen to get hit. I've watched the suckers jump 12 foot fences and wonder what the heck are they doing having a problem getting hit by cars. Probably just like sharks where if you scare them they bolt in the direction they are pointed and fly out of sight. Just sharks smelling speared fish will shake it off and come back. First thing is make sure the creature isn't pointed in your direction when you scare it. Of course not flying into their little world would help. Deer kill people evey year. Luck man.
