Hey guys, I just picked up a K&N oil filter for my 04 Gsxr. Ive always went with an OEM filter and it came with a small crimp ring that acts as a seal. THis K&N didnt have one AND the guys at this shop didnt know what i was talking about... Does anyone know what im talkin about...and do i need this small ring? -i might have to just crank on the K&N and see if it leaks. but i dont wanna F/U anything. THanks

I guess I don't understand what you're talking about either - are you talking about the round rubber gasket, or something else? Or are you talking about the crush gasket that is intended for the oil plug?

your saying crimp ring, but its like a crush washer where you have to tighten it down till it crushes to make it seal.... and if you bought it some place and they dont know what they are selling .... i would go talk to the owner or what ever and ask what the H*ll he is doing. i hate it when they dont know the products they sell or can atleast find a answere

Also not all bikes need the crush washer. Some 04's and later shipped with flat washers that can be re-used.
