Chain Lube: Tri-Flow?

Hey kids, To start, I will not do buisness with the local bike shop here as they have stiffed out many of my friends and many friends of theirs. So as a rule, most of us pretty much stay clear from that place if we can and just go 30 minutes south for the hard to get stuff for our toys. Now, I went out hunting for some Dupont teflon spray for my chain with no luck and I was wondering what you all thought about using Tri-Flow spray? It states motorcycle use on the can, so I figured I'd ask. I also know it's based, or at least contains teflon. Any ideas on that? I googled it but the only thing that comes up is bicycle uses. Thanks.

i dont know anything about that tri-flow, but the dupont stuff is hard to find, the only place i have been able to find it other than the internet, is at lowes, and usually theres only 1 or 2 cans left and i usually go with 3 or 4 friend and we all flip coins for who gets a can

Tri Flow will work, but it's a pain in the ass to use for a motorcycle chain, and it's a wet lube, so it's messy - I don't even use it on bicycle chains anymore. Another alternative that you can find at any bicycle store is Red Line teflon dry lube, which I would prefer over Tri Flow, although I've never used it on a motorcycle chain. The only thing is you really need to clean your chain well before you use it. You're really best off using a motorcycle specific spray chain wax over both of those, if you can't find the Dupont spray.

If you can't find the Dupont stuff, consider the Bel Ray Super Clean chain lube. It is a chain wax and it dosen't fling off and make a mess.

I have never had an issue picking up the dupont stuff from my local lowes.. they always have plenty of cans... but you can order it off line and have them ship it to you

I found the stuff. Works great, probably should have cleaned the chain prior to use simply to save the product a bit, but had no problem cleaning it itself. Good stuff, chain looks 10 times better.
