U could get a sprocket kit for about $150. Or you if u dont want the whole kit just buy the front sprocket and go -1 or -2 and u wont have to change ur chain. It jumps up alot faster though with -2. Thats like doing a +6 in the rear sprocket.

This is what you do you save 150.00 then you but a vortex sprockets you want to go 2 down in the front and up 3 or 4 in the rear you will have NO!!! trouble pulling it right up in 2nd and 3rd and probley 4th with a good push and pull but i warn you the more you mess with sprockets the more you loose top end speed and your spedometer will be way off but that set up will have you ridding out stand up with ease and better throtal control good luck if you wanna save money learn how to clutch em up but that bike should come right up if your doing it right make sure you push the bars down drop you ass down and way back then romp the gas and pull with your arms it should come right up most of the time when guys say there bikes wont come up 99% of the time its just that there not giving it enough gas get it to 5000rpms or so then just snap it wide open for a second then just on off the gas til it smooths out and you find your balance point ahhh anyways good luck brother let me know how it works.

i ride 6 milers on stock gearing stand ups are easy...clutchs are fun you dont need a sprocket unless you want the 520 conversion its just a all around better chain but if you must get a kit get the RK/vortex kit its nice

just do bump ups at 50 in second its the easiest way to learn a stand up, plus if you fuck up there is still plenty of engine braking...then you learn to click gears...

how much does changing the spocket effect your odometer. and on the 520 conversion how much top end will you loose.

I've seen some people loose as much as 20 mph on the top end with a ful 520. If you go with a full 520 dont expect to ride twisties or even the interstate like you used to. A 520 is meant for a pure stunt conversion. Just my .02

wrong the 520 is a race coversion and you can get a 520 with stock gears if you wanna do anything just go down one in front its easy and you dont lose alot of top ill still do 170 when i have the -1 on the 520 is just alot stronger and better. just my 2$

Yes, you would be right about that. Most of the 520 conversions that I have seen have been used with huge sprockets, which does limit your top end speeds. If you use stock gearing you wont see much difference.

Im thinking about goin up 1 or 2 teeth on my rear sprocket for my 2k 600. If i do that am i going to have to get another chain or will my stock one fit ?
