Damn, the miami riders thread literally fell off the face of this forum. Any new or old riders around, down for riding? I ride w/ several friends down here (as many as 15 bikes, to as few as 3, at times).. Anyway, post here, so that we can get a "bigger" group ride(s) going.. Ride safe, Jimmy.

Hey am from MIA, I don't ride too much, usually on thursdays to work and later to the US1 hangout (which was packet yesterday), but am down to go chill with some ppl with bikes, I don't know many ppl that ride so it should be a cool experience.

watch for the cops on Snake Road! 2 weeks ago, my husband and a friend got pulled over by a Miccosukee (not Seminole) police car hiding in the 2nd curve up from the gas station. I was a few bike lengths behind (on my SV naturally) and the cop just angrily waved me by. Our friend got a ticket and his CBR impounded for having an expired driver's license :headshake, my husband got off with a warning. Guess his gray hair came in handy :D. Ha our poor friend had to ride behind my husband on the GSXR 1000 all the way back to Kendall; he is 6'4" and it wasn't exactly comfortable :lol: besides the fact that I told him I took a video of him riding back there (I really didn't) ;)

thanks Martin... yeah, snake road is kinda lame, especially when you have to do the speed limit... for it to be fun, you'd have to go break neck speed (over 100+ mph), and risk a fat ass ticket and jail time... regardless, hope that you guys had fun.. we did, the tikibar run turned out good.. good weather (once we got down south), and the food/drinks/company were all great.. the only thing that sucked was my getting pulled over by a local deputy on the way home for my tag.. no biggie though, he ended up being cool.. no ticket, no warning, nada... in any case, we'll be riding wednesday, as well as thursday.. i'll text you w/ the info... btw, did you get a new chain, and is the bike 100% again? & welcome oskar.....

yeah, no more Snake road for now, 27th down to Lake Okeechobee is better I think. The bike has a new chain, so is back to 100%!

http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd242/MREBAY/CRSH1.jpg http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd242/MREBAY/CRSH2.jpg http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd242/MREBAY/CRSH3.jpg http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd242/MREBAY/CRSH4.jpg fast group ride last sunday night/monday morning at 1:45am resulted in this... pretty high speed lowside (approx. 70-65 mph) on a off-ramp that tightened up after about 1/3 into it... rider was not hurt too bad, just a little banged up and a scuffed knee, as he was geared up.. he lucked out, as the guard rail just ended, and he didn't tumble into any of the several palm trees nearby.. but his bike is basically totaled, which sucks... he was the 2nd in line, exiting off of the highway.. i was third, behind him... as i was banging into the corner, hanging off of the bike, i noticed some sparking from his bike, which i see from time to time, as his peg scrapes during his leaning... anyway, next thing i know, the bike slides out from under him as he's trying to lean harder (where the corner tightened up)... he might've been able to save it, if he would have only hung off the bike and straightened the bike upright a bit... the right peg hung up on the asphalt and just lifted the rear wheel up and out... all i can remember is thinking, WTF?! he's tumbling, and the bike's sliding & flipping, and some of his bike parts are getting scattered all over the place.. and there i am, already commited to the corner at speed, knee almost down, worrying about a million things (all going through my mind within a second it seemed)... luckily, nobody else went down due to the crash.. anyway, 2 LEOs were riding w/ us, so they called rescue, to check out our boy... meanwhile, one of the guys rode south to go get a truck.. we all waited, and helped load the bike up.. we then proceeded north, to drop off our injured rider and his bike... i finally made it home back south and got to sleep at around 3:45 am.. had 3 hours of sleep before work, which sucked.. all of the other riders were off, or called in.. :twofinger fackers!!! in closing, i just wanted to say: 1) wear your gear! 2) don't ride balls out, esp. if you don't know the territory.. 3) always leave "room" between you and the other rider, no matter what the circumstances.. 4) wear your gear!!

I have to do some mods to the bike first, then I will see whats out there!!! :lol: It was really HOTT out!!!! ... There was a lot of people there. They had drag racin. Some chick was out there and I dont know what happen to her, but the bike wheelied and she flew! .. She was ok .. but the bike was a little messed up. They also had a stunt show. It was pretty cool. The guys in the show do a show over here in Deerfield on Monday nights. It would be a nice little ride for you and your friends if your down!!!! :winkwink:

g'damn weather screwing up our riding... friggin' cold as hell last night (32 degrees.. i'm still defrosting), and it's going to be cold again tonight, 45 degrs... and to those northerners who say that so. fla. never gets cold, :twofinger.. i feel your pain!!

Last night? You are braver than I am!!:) NOW my bike is acting up.. so may not ride Sunday after all. It's not shifting right, hard to shift into 3rd gear... takes 2-3 times of trying to get it into 3rd gear upshifting. Have to take it in to the dealer (less than 3K miles)

I didn't get bike looked at yet, I lubed the chain real good and it was acting OK. Then yesterday on the way home from work it really got stuck in 2nd gear. I am working late today (teach an AP class until 5) so can't take it by today, but plan to take it by tomorrow. Don't know if I'll be riding this weekend or not.:headscrat
