Dam, where were you guys when I needed you? I just paid $300 bones, to have Carter Spray Finishing in Greenpoint do my rims. His work was good and he's super fast, but his professionalism sux, answers limited e-mails, doesnt accept credit card, shop only stays open till 5 Mon - Fri. His paint chipped already on one of my rims, not sure if it was the tire installation or what, small chip that i colored in, so i dealt with it. Also, my front rim had the factory weight that i forgot to take off, he took it off, but at the same time bent the lip on my rim, it was small, so i dealt with that too... Now that I know there are alternatives, i'll look to you guys

He probably undercooked the paint, thats why its chips

Not sure if it was chipped during tire installation, so I gave him the benefit of a doubt, but i know the lip bend was one of his minions, didnt have the time, energy or desire to create a major issue over it, so I just sucked it up. PM me with a quote on blacking out my rear passenger pegs, looking to get those done, i'm in Ridgewood Queens, you anywhere near there?

NYC here as well. Bronx to be exact. I would like to powder coat my levers and all my pegs/brackets black. I went to the shop I normally go to and they want $500. Does that sound right? Can anyone recommend a cheaper place. I wouldn't mind paying the $500 but I want to make sure I get quality work and the paint won't chip. I usually do mechanical work with them not paint. Thanks!

Hell yea $500 is a lot for pegs, brackets and levers...Even the $80my man was quoting me for footpegs is absurd. Obviously this dude didnt want to do the work, powdercoating isnt as hard as people make it seem, it's all in the prep work & the kind of powder you use. I've seen guys powdercoat their own shit with supplies they got online, and an oven in their backyard or garage. Do the research and you'll see, as a matter of fact hit up Antor1, he's got his own backyard oven, he could probly do it for a lot less.
