The Cycle Guy 05-28-2008, 10:33 PM We're happy to announce the Fast Pack by The Cycle Guys Inc. Fast Pack is a collapsible tail bag that fits over your stock seat. Unzip the outer zipper and Fast Pack extends up about 8 inches to provide storage for lunch, a light jacket, cell phone, a pair of shoes, some T-shirts, whatever. And the best part is, when you don't need storage space, simply zip up the Fast Pack and it collapses down to become a custom padded seat cover with a carbon fiber pattern top. You never have to remove Fast Pack from your bike. Fast Pack won't get in your way like a tank bag, won't scratch your bike's paint, and nearly disappears when not in use. Fast Pack was featured in the New Ideas section of Cycle World magazine in May 08.
Check out our website at www.thecycleguys.com.
Fast Pack is available in 3 sizes to fit many bikes with a separate rear seat, including most newer GSX-R's.
If you have any questions about the Fast Pack, please let me know.
Thanks
Tim Monroe
JohnPaulGixxer 05-29-2008, 07:18 AM Tim,
Will this product work for a guy like me who does not use a passenger seat? Meaning can it be attatched to the cowl of my bike if needed without scrathing the paint? Bike is gsxr1000K6, thanks in advance.
Lyte- 05-29-2008, 08:11 AM I have a friend who has a bike shop and he is an auth reseller of these...
None of them are made for my bike :shifty
All the ones he has are in a package so I didn't want to open them just to try them out on my rear seat (plus I have my single cowl on most of the time)
But I plan to take a weekend trip very soon and I wanted to get one of these so I can take all the things us females need when traveling... so I will most likely be opening his packages trying to see which one will fit my bike best.
M_Easy 05-29-2008, 08:32 AM Hey, I like that thing.
It looks like it would fit over a cowl just as well.. I don't use my passenger seat either on my 06 GSXR600. Removed the passenger foot pegs too, just to clean up the lines.
:infrandom Tim?
The Cycle Guy 06-16-2008, 12:36 AM Sorry for my delay...I thought I'd get an e-mail when there was a reply here, maybe I have to recheck my settings.
Anyway, the Fast Pack is really designed for use on your stock seat, and should be on a flat surface in order to work properly. We have not tried it over a cowling, and there's a good chance it would scuff up the paint on a cowling, and I'm not sure it would even fit. I don't recommend using it over a cowling.
If your bike is not listed on our application chart, send me your rear seat measurements and I can tell you if we have a Fast Pack for you. I need to know the length front to rear, the width at the front, and the width at the rear. Send to tim (at) thecycleguys.com.
The Cycle Guy 06-16-2008, 12:39 AM I realize this is a GSXR forum, but in case you or a friend has a bike with a one-piece seat (VFR, Bandit, FZ-1, Speed Triple, etc) we have a new Universal Fast Pack that is designed for such bikes. The stretchy shroud goes around the sides of the seat for a clean look, and otherwise it's the same Fast Pack collapsible tail bag.
Lyte- 09-12-2008, 07:31 AM Should be having a Fast Pack for the 01-03 600 / 00-03 750 / 00-02 1000 In the Near future.
I had Tim measure my seat so he could make one so I could buy it for my bike :bounce
M_Easy 09-12-2008, 07:42 AM Throw some pics up- I think this is a cool looking bag- are you getting the saddle bags, or just the single, 'on-seat' bag?
Lyte- 09-16-2008, 12:04 PM there is just something wrong with saddle bags on a super sport bike.
I am getting the on seat bag. I already have another one but its large and more for long distance trips so i want one i can ride around locally and I don't have to take it on and off every time i stop somewhere.
SSScottSS 02-25-2010, 09:11 AM Has anybody tried these. They look like a good idea, but I do have concerns about how well they hold up and how well they stay in place with a passenger on them.
No warranty on them, according to their site, also concerns me.
Lyte- 02-25-2010, 09:13 AM Still waiting on the prototype that will fit my bike but I have other friends who have them and they love them!
SSScottSS 02-25-2010, 03:54 PM That's good to hear. It really does look like a good solution to make the bike a bit more practical for daily use.
