Time to do an oil change, and not sure where to fill to. Should the oil be between the fill lines when the bike is running or should it be between the lines when it is off. don't want to over do it

And if you're asking about this, I'd suggest you download the service manual (which I myself just figured out where to get it) and read up!
BTW, check the oil level when the bike is LEVEL and off.

Yep. And to level it, just sit down beside the bike and grab the rear peg mount and right bar (or a frame slider if you have it) and rock it toward you until it's level. And it probably goes without saying, but after you do an oil change, fill it not quite to the level, start it up and let it run a few seconds, wait a minute then check again so you can make sure you have the filter full. | |
