Are you saying that the oil level is OK, but right after shutdown is shows a little low? If this is the case do not add oil. You have the proper quantity. It is best to check Amsoil after it has set for a while like first thing in the morning as it hangs up on the metal longer than petroleum oil does and will make you think it is low.

+1 no need to fill it past minimum. As long as it's within the window or hash marks (if you have them) it's fine. Let it sit long enough to give a true reading.

+1 on the wait a while or before you ride to check it. Also be sure it is level, Front to back and side to side. It can make a big difference in what you see in the window.

I don't know that I would go that far, but I will tell you that I personally do 5,000 mile oil and filter change intervals. My opinion is that for a street bike, and I don't care how crazy you ride it, you're throwing good oil and money away if you go at shorter intervals than what the manufacturer recommends. You probably could get away with 7,000 mile (double) intervals using a good synthetic. Don't try that with a standard oil.

Good oil....been using it for a few years now....it has 2 drain back before you get a accurate reading

Putting too much oil can cause the crank and/or other parts to slap the oil too much, aerating it.
When you have tiny bubbles in the oil, it cannot do its job to lubricate.
