2006 gsxr 600 top speed

This morning around 2am I was running on the parkway in NJ.. with a few friends 2005 r1 2005 cbr1000rr 2001 gsxr 750 2007 r6 2007 cbr600rr and me!!!! 2006 gsxr 600 <--- BONE STOCK!!! umm.. they were watching me infront.. except the r1, he was running with me.. said he backed off the throddle, which i don't doubt because its scary at those speeds :-).. I WISH I HAD THE POWER!!! ummm all the ramping... yeah 160 is suppose to be the TOP SPEED of the bike i was doing 165... ABOVE THE LIMIT???? HMMMM 2009 gsxr 1000.. here i come.. i can't wait till the release...

so what was i doing?? about 5-10% less then what the speedometer was reading. Either way its still pretty damn fast...

i need a bigger bike.. and a bigger life insurance policy... do you really need to go 10-15mph faster??? I mean cmon 175-180 on any road is just plain retarded... but to each is his own :headshake

I know I wasnt going this fast due to the speedo bieng off, but when I was at stock sprockets mine, and 2 of my other friends who have k6 600's, was reading 186 mph!! Maybe you had another gear or werent at full throttle!! :headscrat 160-165 mph . . . it should read alot higher, not sayin your goin that fast but yeah . . :hmmm:

150ish sounds about right.. my K4 600, maxed out, read 186 on the speedo, but was only doing 169.6 mph in reality (per gps)...

The most disturbing part to me is that you did this at night, when your visibility is the most limited. I don't care how well lit up the road is, you still can't see if something is in your path at that speed at night.

Meaning if something were in front of you, you need time to at least slow down to navigate the obstacle. At that speed and at night, you'd plow through anything that "popped" up in front of you. Were you at least on the highway or something?

I could understand if you want the 1k for a little more torque around the street, but just to go 180 mph is dumb, 150 mph is PLENTY fast.

not to justy my action, but it was at around 2:30am, no cars on the road.. all bikes highbeam was on.. it was WELL light up!! kept in my line and everything.. there was one and 2 cars which i swerved around.. maybe i am dumb..

150 mph is about 220 feet per second. Your headlights, no matter how many high beams were on will not have anything lit up enough.
