Hey boss, Do you know who the bike is title to? If yes, you should be able to go to the tax collector with that person and they will be able to issue a title. If not, try to do a search for the person at the tax collector using the vin. If that doesn't work, call the sheriff's office and see if they can do a search on it. After you located a name, contact them to see if they will do a bill of sale and sign title over. If not, let me know because then you are talking about filing a legal case to obtain title. I can help you with that too, just a little more difficult Hope that helps bud.

if you already have a bill of sale you should be able to apply for a title. The steps you need to take are to get an indemnity(sp?) bond for one and a half times the value of the bike. This shouldn't cost too much. mine was for 7500 and cost me 115 total for the three year period I had to cover it. Also you will have to have a State trooper inspector run the VIN and make sure it is not coming up in the system. After all that you should be able to register it no problem. I did it four years ago and got the title from DMV in alittle under three weeks. Hope this helps.
