When lowering a bike the most common suggestions are getting dog bones. With this I have to lower the forks also. Now my question is I got the gsxr dog bones...how low is it going to be? And I know the front has to be lowered the same height...which is?? I have no clue.... I got the dog bones from my ex-boyfriend....I checked online and it says 2-3 inches..well what is it...2 or 3 Thanks for any help and suggestions

Most of them set lowering stages stock setting 2 or 2 1/2 inch or some have 3 inch I would say set it to the middle hole and then lower the forks just a tad. If you lower it 3 then you will need to either cut your kickstand or get a adjustable kickstand. at 2 inches which i think that yours is you can get away without cutting your kickstand but you will have to be very very careful on how you set your bike or where you place it at. Adjustable kickstands run 125 or so, but you can get a shop to cut off old foot(kickstand) and weld it back on

All of the above is true as I just lowered mine. I lowered it originally to the 3rd hole but have since moved it to the middle one as only a slight adjustment to he forks is necessary and when it was lowered all the way the bike sat up way to straight and I was constantly in fear it would tip over.

Thanks for the info  Right now its at stock and I can ride it fine. I get kinda nervous before stops and I tend to slide the back tire cause I am use to the dirt bike... so I was thinking lowering it 2 inches which would prolly leave me on the soles..which is ok.. but 3 inches would have me flat foot it. Which would make me more comfortable. Lowering it 3 inches ...will it make the bike rough around turns?

I have my girls bike lowered 3 inches in the front and the rear and its pretty much low. You will hit the bottom when going over huge speed bumps but just looking at the picture you may not need to (light as feather You is). I will try take some pixs of it outside later to get you a glimpse to see how low it looks

I have not noticed a difference yet, but I just adjusted it last week and have not really ridden it hard to know yet. But I will let you know hopefully soon if I notice any significant difference.

Another questions...do you guys ever worry about low siding? Hows the suspension on it being lowered?

I lowered a YZF600R, and this is how I did it: 1) Get a buddy 2) Hold the bike upright so its like it would be when your riding. 3) Get a level (plastic one or tape it) and place it on the gas tank to make sure that you are perpendicular to the floor. 4) Measure the front height and rear height at static points. (like the front cowl and the rear license plate). Write those numbers down and lock them in a safe for future use. 5) Install the dog bones (although I recommend the adjustable ones from http://www.adjustmenttech.com/) 6) Lower the front end until it looks right and then make sure the back is lowered the same amount as the front by remeasuring and tweeking the front end. I used a large socket with electric tape on it and a rubber mallet. I would release the tripple clamps so the fork slid up. Then tighten it down a little and smack it with socket and hammer (no marks that way) to move it down to where I wanted it. Hope that babble helps ... Here is a good article on it: http://sportrider.com/tech/146_0210_lower/ I like the tierap on the fork for clearance check too. After your all done put a tierap around the fork tube so that its snug but not too tight. Then go for a ride. Look and see how much the tierap moved up (or down depending on the kind of forks you have) and see if the clearance is close to hitting. If it is, I'd raise the bike a little. Good Luck.

Another questions...do you guys ever worry about low siding? Hows the suspension on it being lowered? If you do it right, the bke will handle very well. No problems sliding.

Got rid of those screw type links due to those in the picture. Granted I drag race then ride on the street those with the thread type are prone to strip just because the thread are under sooo much stress. Not to knock anyone product but It is what it is So I stick to the 3 hole set up

This is a picture of my 01 600 and my girl 750 next to each other the 600 is stock height while the 750 is lowered 3 all way round. If you need a side shot let me know. I would say that 2 inches should be your best height for you

They seemed really solid, but if theres a history, I agree, go with the bones.

No those are not from that site I rather not say there are alot of copy cat ones online. Those you have look nice those thicker and all but they are threaded though and not gonna go that route.

I would take off that upper fairing brace as it holds your mirror and upper as well. You will be limited on how much you lower it and before this bike my girl had a 99 750 (think I posted it on here with it lowered)but you wanna make sure that youlower the front to where your still able to turn the front end with out hitting the top of the shocks. Lower your rear 2 in the back as well. It will still look okay and would not have that too low and too high look in the front. DO a search on my ID and it may be on here or it was on the Site before the long time Crash we had.
