I have a good hook up for getting HID's for my Gix. I want to see around how much everyone is paying for them and how hard they were to install.

There's a bunch of online places you can go. I've heard that 3Bspec.com and lite-eyes.com are two decent places for HID's

I have a friend who sells the kit for around $100, I think. I not 100% sure on the price. Might be a little more. He usually just sells locally, but if you guys want me to check with him about shipping, I will. Just let me know.

If you have a 600/750 then the High beam is H9 and the Low beam is H7. If you have a 1000 then the high beam is going to be HB3. I'm going to do them both, but some people only do the Low beam. On the same note, Does anyone have any detailed instructions on how to install them?

i bought HIDs, hi and low beam. i think next time i might consider a halogen hi beam just cuz of the time it takes to heat up the HID. i paid $120 for slim ballasts from starrotors.com. very happy with them.

Do you need slim ballasts? are regular ballasts too bulky?

Get the slim ballasts. The regular ones are way to bulky to mount. Plus the slim ballasts will give you a little more flexibility on where to mount it on your bike. As for installation instructions, it should be pretty much plug and play. DO NOT buy any kit that says you have to splice any wires. There are too many kits out there that are plug and play. So it's not worth doing any sort of splicing. Granted, I haven't heard of any kits that require splicing, but I figured I'd mention it for the hell of it. When you get a kit, you'll see that the HID harness kit should be set up to plug right into the wiring harness. The hard part is finding a place to mount the ballasts.

I bought mine off of gixxerboys.com. Probably should've shopped around some more I now see I can get them a little cheaper. Although I am very happy with the easy installation and nice 8000' look.
