lower ur tire pressure a little bit.. make sure ur tire is warm . make sure u didnt pick up any gravel or anything, and remember even when you use the clutch u still have to shift ur weight back like a power wheelie.. just not as much, just a little nudge on the bars works... Hope it helps, What gear? and what tires?

I really don't think you need to shift your weight back to clutch a wheelie. I feel that the reason your tire is spinning is that your trailing the power. What I do is pull in the clutch with one finger and as I wack the throttle to about 10k I release the clutch. The clutch is released as the throttle is twisted. If I miss it and twist then release I trail it and the tire might slip (like starting a rolling burn out, I guess ..) That technic always brings the front up, and then twist some more throttle on to ride it out ... I'm no expert, but it seems to be the ticket for me :) The hardest thing for me at first was getting the balls to do it that way. I always wanted to do one and then the other cuz it felt more controlled, but its a combo deal thats needed. The more ya do it that way the more controlled it is and the less rpm ya need to get it up. Hope that helps.

Oh ya, start out low, and move up. I usually pop a few at below rpm's everytime to get the feel again at the start. Rev to like 8k and release, ect. It kinda like math that way. No big surprises hopefully. Lower tire pressure will make ya more stable, but I usually don't do it cuz I luv twisties. I just yank em up and ride on. If your just starting, just practice popping em up over and over. Then work on riding em out. I'm no expert, but I swear clutches are made of tough stuff cuz I've beat the crap out of mine trying to learn how to clutch right :)

Great advice guys. I've been riding for approx. 4 months now. Been practicing wheelis for past 3 weeks. First clutching it popping it at 3k and gradually increasing to now at 8-9k. Now my front end comes up like dime. Only thing now I gotta work on is riding it out for a longer distance. Remember to keep weight squared, cuz times where my bike or front tends to go right and land my front end of my swerving to the right. Practice, practice, practice.

the clutching is fun, but cover your rears; remember this is not a power wheelie. try not slipping the clutch too fast, that way your rear tire won't spin out. +1 on tire pressure and warm. and you do not need to shift back or even bounce on the bar.

I haven't really tried clutching yet and i was wondering when you let off the clutch do you drop it or just release it real fast?

Drop or release clutch?? Huh you just pull it in with either 1 or 2 finger and release once you're simultaneously giving it gas!

well i have 1st gear wheelies down to where i can ride them out for a little while (sit downs) just wondering if you guys do 1st gear stand ups or you go right to 2nd gear stand ups after you have completed the first gear sit downs ? and also ive tried clutching mine up in 2nd gear sit downs and stand ups to no luck. its a 2000 600,,, will i need to bounce it any or not ? mainly looking for advice on 2nd gear ones. Also am i going to have to do anything to my suspension if i do have to bounce it up ? I dont know which one to turn theres a little on where i can turn with a flat head screw driver or is it the bigger one that i would have to turn with a wretch or something ? the guy before me was about 6'0 170 and im only 5'9" 145 if im lucky. kinda hard for me to preload it, to bounce. Thanks
