No way in hell. I have a child. Also, I can't take the lady on trips, or to jazz clubs and other nice soirees on the back of my bike. Even if I didn't have a child, I still couldn't do it. Not I. But I'll ride my bike year-round, unless there's ice or salt/sand on the ground.

This kid I work with rode his all year round for three years. He road his tires till they poped. Like steel belts wearing through. My boss told me one time he was plowing a wendy's parking lot and he saw this kid behind him on his ninja. He's nuts. I don't blame you if you don't believe me, but if you met him you'd belive me. hah

I'm not worried about the cold and stuff, i work in a freezer so its no big deal, and I guess i could ride the bus or get a taxi or something when its torrential downpours or snowing. I had the idea, since i only need a car when its raining or snowing, to get some beater just so I have a back up plan but i've yet to do it. My neighbor has only had a bike for something like 3 years and he moved to NC from upstate NY. He also rode to Syracus (sp) in November.

As of last July I bought my first car (pick up for carrying my bike). I used to only have a bike, but I would end up borrowing my dad's old car for a month when it was too cold to ride. I'll still probably end up putting 3x as many miles on my bike than my truck.

been riding year round for about 2 years. its not bad, despite what people think it does get cold here because it is very humid. i have only ridden on icy roads one time and it will prob be the last. that black ice is no joke. i almost ate it a couple of times and its just not worth it to do it again.

my truck has no windsheild wipers, heater or fan so its not a good winter vehicle. its gonna be the bike again for this winter.

ive road the last 2 winters on a bike only. as long as there is no ice or snow on the ground its ok. becarefull of the temp tho. i got hypothermia. not fun. always leave extra room & take turns slow. ALWAYS LET YOUR BIKE WARM UP & BECAREFUL!

Having only a bike, is kind of unheard of here in Miami. The weathers here so unpredictable.

I'm all for taking the bike out once in awhile in winter if there is a warm day, but those are rare. No way I could make it through without a car. I'll never forget on one of the coldest days of the year last winter, I saw a guy riding a gixxer. It was about 20* that day. I know there are a few hardcores on this forum, but I draw the line at about 40*.

I only had my R6 for about a month over the summer while in Colorado. My Jeep blew up. It was great while the weather was good, but there was a three day stretch were I was stuck riding in constant downpour.
