There are some decent ones outside the immediate metro area: 1. Northeast of Richardson (around Lake Lavon and north of McKinney) - If you pull up Google Maps or Mapquest, you can follow along: Starting off 544 in Wylie, turn north onto 1378, right on 3286 over Lake Lavon, left on 546, right on Bridgefarmer Rd through Lowry's Crossing to US 380, left on 380 towards McKinney, right on 1827, then right on 545 which takes you towards 121 and US-75 north of McKinney. 2. North of McKinney - there is a road near Anna called 455. Take a left off US-75 onto it and head west. The quality of the road has deteriorated a bit over the years and I've heard cops patrol it a lot, but it is a pretty decent ride all the way over to I-35 / Sanger (north of Denton). Along the way, it goes over the Lake Ray Roberts Dam, which is cool. 3. West of Ft. Worth, starting in Weatherford you can head Northwest towards Possum Kingdom Lake. I forget the roads that are good, but I can find out from a friend who heads that way a decent amount. Let me know if you want to go riding sometime. I'm in Richardson.
