fassina4 07-18-2005, 06:47 AM www.sportbiketracktime.com is at Barbers this weekend...anyone going to be there? I think all of the I group is full but the A and B groups have openings. Well I am not fast enough for the A group so I am going to sand bag alittle a B group it just so I can ride.....maybe I will get bumped...then again maybe not.
fassina4 07-18-2005, 06:50 AM Anyone know what the pace is at STT? I know I have gone to a couple and NESBA's pace is alot faster than the other one that I went to. Nesba's B group was faster than the I group of the other.

miranda 07-19-2005, 02:17 PM say hello to me as well!
bambam454 07-19-2005, 03:51 PM stt's b group is slower than the b group with nesba. especially in the morning when they are running the class drills. and if they do it like they have in the past they will not bump you. they havehad a problem both of the last 2 times i have been there with them of the i group selling out and people reg.for the slower b group just as you have. last year in oct they even had a group riders reg. for b just so they could get in. they didnt get bumped either. i could be wrong but prepare yourself for a slower than normal day. i'm shooting to come down again in oct. hopefully you miranda and zac can make it out then also.
rev411 07-19-2005, 07:55 PM Yeah will do. I'll be on the silver 1Kwith a guy on a black 1000RR. This is the first one so I g had to get in the beginner class , but that's cool , I just really want to learn more of the tech-tips this time around anyway. The suspension set-up is one of the main things. Do you guys bring tents, generators? How much gas do you bring or do they have that?
Thanks

Yeah I will bring a ez-up tent, a container of gas (5gal.) and the tool chest. They do have gas if it is available. They have race fuel as well! It has been available everytime in the past. This is the first time I have ridden with STT so I dont know if it is the same for all clubs. I dont have a generator but I would bring it if I did. Bring lots of water! I do not know if STT bumps you up if you are faster than B group. We will see....hopefully. See ya
Shaun

What kind of drills......is this in the first session of the day?
bambam454 07-20-2005, 09:39 PM they run like a mini class with the beginner group. they go over things like lines, body position, flags, and other track and performance riding basics. this typically lasts until after lunch. then they kinda let you loose alittle more. also unless you get there early enough to pit on the front row up against the fence you will need a generator for power. this time of year you prolly want a fan for when you are trying to cool off. take alot of water and start drinking it early .. before the riders meeting.
someone do me a favor and tell mark sheldon " bambam said hello". he is an awesome instructor and one hell of a rider. also tell the twins doing tires to tighten up every chance they get.

You mean they make you stay back in single file...no passing at all? I know about the extra meeting after the riders meeting going over all that stuff. I understand the first session, I sure hope not hope its not the first 3 sessions.

i know that it is atleast the first session. maybe more ... you can pass some but it's very restricted. ... talk to mark at registration and tell him you made a mistake as to which group to sign up for. he's a good guy if there is any way at all he'll move you up. just make sure you are nice to him. he dosnt respond well to people that make asses of them selves. :infrandom

I think I will just wait and feel it out. This will only be my 3rd Trackday. On the 2nd I moved up pretty fast but the pace was nothing like Nesba's. The last thing I want to do is look like an ass. I would hate to ask to be moved up then not be able to keep the pace. I guess better to be cautious than careless.
Look me up when you get in town sometimes. I shouldnt be too far from Z and Miranda.

Go here and watch the Moto Ballet. This guy takes great video. This was on March 25 when i went to a Nesba Track Day.
This Moto Ballet is one of the best video's I have seen for track lines and smooth transitions. I have watched it about 200 times.
