what times should i expect running my 2005 gsxr1000 in the 1/8mile. i have it lowered 3" in the rear and 1/2" in the front, i also just ordered front end straps for it today, with hopes of keeping the front tire on the ground. Also does anyone have tips on launching. thanks.

I'm by far not the greatest. I just got a 10.30 @ 137 this weekend, lowered 1" and strapped. I'm launching at 6500 rpm and slipping the clutch. This is easily a 9 sec bike, but I still have a lot to learn especially in the launch.

Launching this thing at the track must be a friggin' struggle!? Considering I only weigh 145 on a good day I won't be launching it up at NED anytime soon thanks!

ran mine this past weekend in the 1/4 and it went 9.904@144.02 track prep sucked ass and the humid weather sucked as well.......was supposed to rain...and just barely held off .....best 8th mile there was 6.51@117.83 with a 1.75 60 foot......had to baby it or it would just blow the tire off....my bike is lowered 3 in in the back and strapped as far as i can take it......geared one tooth down in the front and had U4 race gas in it...
my local track (8th mile track).ive been a 1.63 60 foot at 115.5mph....and a 6.42et...this was on 93 octane pump gas......will be going this friday with the race gas in it.....

thanks for the info man. i'll let ya know what times i rum with mine. i just ordered so straps for the front end, oh yeah i spoke to lee from lee's performance, and he told me that race fuel on a stock bike causes it to loose about 3-5hp. i don't know how this could be. you ever heard of that

Yes I have. My Bandit is that way. Actually on my Bandit if I run anything higher than 87 octane my ETs suffer.

i guess i'll just stick with plain ol 93 octane. i have a few friends that run 112 in their bikes, i don't know how long thats gonna last
