New law against loud pipes in NYC! Proposition 416A

Coming soon, as soon as Dec 18th. If a cop sees your bike parked without a stock exhaust or one stickered with an EPA or DEP noise regulation sticker on in NYC limits, it can be fined and or confiscated. hold up. Where is this sticker located? If your're saying the sticker should be on the exhaust then how can a sticker stay on a hot pipe? So how would the piggies know if its a stock or aftermarket pipe?

a buddy of mine told me about this... its crazy.. what NYC is coming to.. i hear the exhaust cant be more than 80 decibles... which means at idle cant be louder than a regular house phone .. im gona have to call tomorrow and let them know..

Ok here's more info... Theres not going to be a sticker, it has to be engraved on your exhaust just like the OEM units. Looks like 'Proposition 416A' has been taken off the calendar for 08', hopefully it wont come back for 09 :thumbup:

All, Here is the official site of the organization that is helping us all fight against this bill. I have gone to a few rallies please support it as best you can. Intro 416A is still in the works and can be passed anytime. By the way it is not a sticker it is a stamp on the pipe. If you look at your stock pipe it "should" have it somewhere. I say should because there was a poll done with stock pipes and more than 50% did not have the stamp from the manufacture for the EPA and another 20% was not clearly visible. http://www.ccmsny.org Good information on their page.
