This bike was totaled on 6-24-03 by a 74 year old woman who turned left in front of me while I was riding down the street. I was airlifted to the hospital where I spent two weeks (five of which were in intensive care).
Injuries included-broken pelvis, broken left wrist, damaged rotator cuff in left shoulder, severed siatic (sp?) nerve on right leg/hip, one inch slice between first and second finger on right hand. I still have a metal plate across my pelvis with three screws going into each hip bone and a metal plate in my left wrist with four screws. After 3 months of rehab I started to begin feeling back to normal but I walked with a limp for almost a year. It's been over two years since the accident and I feel almost 100%. Except for a little loss of movement in my left wrist everything is back to normal.
I took the bitch to court, sued the shit out of her insurance company and walked away with a hefty 6 figure settlement. First thing I bought was another bike

Thats exactly what I bought. I picked up an 02 gsxr 600 for dirt cheap.
Most of the $$ went to buy my house and pay off credit card debt. I almost went out and bought a brand new bike but my friend needed cash bad so I helped him out and bought his bike instead.

I had a shoei full face, joe rocket mesh and kevlar gloves. Much to my surprise the mesh jacket actually worked :headscrat Minimal road rash on the upper body, mostly just my knees. I skided into her at about 35-40 mph, flew over the car and landed about 30 feet away from the accident. I broke my pelvis on the gas tank and my left wrist on the left clip on. The gash on my right hand was from the front brake lever after it broke in my hand.
I landed on my helmet and my left shoulder first causing head trauma and the messed up rotator cuff. The severed siatic was result of the pelvis injury.
Here's what my helmet looked like after the crash. Notice the blood stains on the left side.
