frontplayer 01-24-2009, 12:38 AM Ok, everything arrived on scene 1/22/09 so now I can type my write up. I wanted to write this because I couldn’t find anything on the nicecycle.com body kit, but they have some cool plastics. I’m writing this from a negative point of view I suppose after reading it. I focus on the negative. I think the reader would be more interested in the kits short comings…..
1. Actual order and transaction: I like the website. It’s laid out nice, and has pictures of each kit that you are buying. Tons of pictures, there is not question as to what you are buying. The website accepts paypal which is nice when you’re using your credit card. Their physical address is a PO box in MI….interesting.
2. Shipping time: I placed the order on 1/03/2009. I have the paypal receipt to confirm this. The shipping label shows “Posting date and time” as 1/16/2009. I believe 1/16/09 is the date shipping actually started, not when the order was processed. I don’t know what happen between 1/03/2009 and 1/16/2009. Maybe they were building the kit. That is a decent gap in time.
3. Shipped From: The website clearly advertises their products as being produced in Japan. You can check this on the “FAQ” page. I checked the shipping label on the box and it was marked as “CHINA” with a sticker from Shanghai. I’m not really sure why a product produced in Japan would be shipped to CHINA and then shipped to the USA. I admit I have no idea how shipping works over there, maybe CHINA accounts for most exports to the rest of the world? OR…… maybe the kit was made and shipped from China.
a. Again nicecycle.com advises you “watch out” for cheap CHINA knock off’s…..but has CHINA documentation on their shipping labels. Interesting………
4. Packaging: Well done. Ginourmous box full of goodies. The box was well sealed. There were two holes in the box when I received it. One hole was about the size of a baseball. After I opened the box I found tons of foam type packaging. Every single piece in the kit was individually wrapped and taped all to hell. The parts are very secure. On top of individual wrapping, there was bonus padding to keep everything safe. They went overboard on keeping the product safe.
5. Initial feelings after seeing the first piece of plastic: “Eww, there is a brownish blemish on the tail section.” My eyes were instantly drawn to some type of brown mark on the tail plastic. It almost looks like a water spot, but it won’t go away or buff out. I don’t think these parts are done it a “pro” paint booth.
6. Initial feelings after unwrapping all pieces: Ok, there are blemishes on all the pieces, but the blemishes may not be noticed by anyone other than a “show bike” judge. Sure there were blemishes, but they were small. Keep in mind I’m in my living room looking at each piece under awesome lighting from about 20 different angles. Keep in mind I have little tolerance for blemishes and such after spending $929 on a kit. I looked at each piece from lots of different angles. If you look, you can find a blemish on every piece. The paint is decent. The paint has no speckle, its just simple white. It appears some minor dust got on the paint during painting, and they just clear coat right over it. I found another nasty brown spot on one of the side fairings. I admit that I haven’t washed the kit after installing it. Ill give the kit another look after I wash it. You can see the blemishes when you stand within 6” of the kit with good lighting. 7” and farther out it looks like OEM plastic.
7. Paint: The white looks good. It’s not insane white, but I think it’s the perfect tint/tone/whatever the hell you want to call it. The black portion of the graphics are some type of vinyl that has been clear coated over. The graphics are not painted on, make no mistake. Running my hand over the graphics I could easily tell it’s raised. There is a decent amount of clear coat. Nothing amazing, and the kit could be better with a better/more clear coat.
8. Black plastic portions of the kit: The kit comes with fairings but also black plastic pieces……intake, thy guards (you know,, on the gas tank), and such. The black plastic pieces have what looks like friction marks defects all over. I don’t think they have been scratched………but the pieces have rubbed up on something prior to shipping. Based on packaging, I thin this occurred at the shop.
9. Initial thoughts after 1-8: I’m going to keep the kit. It looks really cool and I like it. There are tons of pieces and it’s a complete kit. Nothing is missing, everything looks pretty good. Graphics are symmetrical and everything is spelled correctly. They even threw in a “limo tint” windscreen!!!!! Nice!
10. Install: The kit comes with no documentation, so figure it out. I started building the tail section. All the pieces fit together very nice. I didn’t have to force anything. Screws taken from the OEM kit fit well into the upgraded kit. The locking mechanism for the passenger seat fit well. Everything was pretty smooth sailing. I ran into no problems with the tail section. The kit uses OEM mounting screws and plastic rivet type things…..(you know those little black plastic push pin things)
a. Install rest of bike: 98% dead on. All the parts fit really well. There were gaps in the body work in 2 locations. The rear tail/brake/turn lights have a gap were the tail light meets the plastic. Only you will know. The guy in the cage behind you will have no idea. Its minor, but it bothered me. I don’t thin it would be tough to make the tail lights fit better. The second gap location is the front of the bike where the air intake meets the fairing that touches the headlight. There was a gap between the intake and the headlight. Again, you will notice it because its your bike, but everyone else will not notice it. I’m talking about a few millimeters here.
b. Installed: I’m stoked at this point. Everything fell into place. No surprises and no mods needed as for mounting. The kit installed quickly and was easy to work with. All the holes matched up and it was basically like putting OEM bodywork on your bike. The minor paint blemishes were vastly outweighed by the ease of install for this kit.
11. Little extras: The OEM body kits have metal heat shield on the side fairings. You can take the OEM stuff of and put it right on the upgraded fairings with no modification. The dimensions of the nicecycle.com kit are dead on.
12. Thoughts after getting everything installed: I’m pretty stoked. The kit fit very well, 1,000% better than I expected. On the down side sure there are minor paint blemishes. But after taking off the stock body work and checking it under the same lighting, I noticed that the upgraded kit looks much nicer that OEM bodywork with a few miles on it. I noticed that once installed you cant see any blemishes. I also noticed that the new kit weighs more than the OEM kit. The plastic feels more heavy duty than the OEM kit.
13. Final thoughts: I’m not sure where the kit actually came from. My first thoughts………nicecycle.com buys kits from china, markets them on a simple USA website, and sells them for the same price as an ebay China kit + plus shipping. Is this a bad thing? I dunno, I don’t like all the “watch out for China kits” on the website, but they have China shipping labels on their products. I could find no Japan documentation. Fitment: It’s good. The kit fits. Everything drops right into place without headache.
14. Would I buy it again? Hmmm, I’m not sure. I want to see a cheap ebay kit so I can compare. Good fit plus a decent paint job are worth the extra money for me at this point. My OEM kit was trashed after a trackday crash so this kit was an easy decision. Pics on post number 2.

tony2001 03-16-2009, 07:40 AM Wow! Thats the first time I see a USPS box so fuked up!
When I got my fairings from Auctmart, the rear undertail piece had a broken tab, while I was waiting on a replacement, both side tail pieces developed cracks right by the front seat.
After going back and forth with Auctmart via e-mail for about a month, cause their in China and insisted I send in pictures. Ended up paying $70 for a new side piece, and they shipped another undertail peice...
About 6 months later, I finally got the side and undertail piece only to find that this one also had a broken tabbbbbbbb...
Let them know about the problems with their plastic, to which they did absolutely nothing, no replacements, no e-mail offering sympathy, no money back, nothing...

trancedmp3 03-18-2009, 08:36 PM That is unacceptable. There should not be any blemishes for a grand. I'd get my money back but im perfectionist..
could of gone my seat cowl with a tiny mark for $50 but I paid $88 for one with not a tiny blemish.
bustanut 03-24-2009, 09:45 PM man,my stock paint has flaws, but i can overlook the little cosmetic flaws for the overall package suzuki puts together.
SRAD600 03-25-2009, 01:53 AM Does any one know if you can buy just certain pieces from the kit or do you have to buy complete fairing kits from Nicecycle?
frontplayer 03-25-2009, 03:44 PM You have to get the whole kit. Thats what they said when i checked it out.
Cuest 03-28-2009, 02:09 PM Great post guys! Thank you!

QUICKONE4U 04-20-2009, 03:16 PM Great review:thumbup: I've been considering one of these kinds of kits myself so I have something different to slap on while I'm at the track. Thanks for the info, just got to figure out what I want and where to get it.

tim13con 05-11-2009, 01:13 PM I like the "corona" designs a lot but I don't drink corona nor do I feel like advertising for them. I am assuming everything is painted on and its not a corona sticker I could remove?
tim13con 05-13-2009, 01:09 PM Anyone? OP?
mpc014 05-13-2009, 06:14 PM Has anyone bought a cheaper one from ebay? they look the same from pictures but that doesnt mean anything. I would like to see it in person.

frontplayer 05-16-2009, 10:39 AM Anyone? OP?

THEBOSS 05-23-2009, 07:28 AM Great Pictures I Have the 08 Im Thinking of Just Getting My Plastics Painted and order the Jordan STICKERSCause I heard Those Ebay KITS Are Cheap But They LOOK PRETTY NICE I THINK
K5CrewDog 07-21-2009, 07:51 PM hey front what color paint did they use on that white (do you know the color code i mean) and is it a pearl white or just a matt white? when i bought my bike the whole thing was yellowed and chromed and ive been slowly getting rid of all the ugly yellow!!
AaronJP 07-22-2009, 09:59 AM Is NiceCycle pretty good?

i had a local body shop match the color up, dont know the codes. its a matte color though, no little sparkles in it at all.
frontplayer 07-23-2009, 06:40 AM Is NiceCycle pretty good?
yea its pretty good, its not as good as OEM though. i like how it turned out, but there were a couple things about the kit that were kinda weak. it fits pretty good though, i liked that.
K5CrewDog 07-26-2009, 01:49 PM yea i bought the fairings and am trying to get the tank painted but the people i bought the fairings through say its a "secret of the factorys" i call BS but whatever Im just trying to get my tank painted.
joey9k2 07-30-2009, 02:18 PM i think most of these fairings all come from the same place in china. check the 600rr.net forum and they seem to purchase from one or two places in china with relatively good results. somethings seem to not line up 100%, but for $600 for a full fairing set shipped....what can you expect.
tdubdw750 07-30-2009, 03:18 PM my dude has the same scheme on his 04 but he powder coated his wheels....
