Today i was practicing doing stoppies and all of a sudden i get head shake from hell!!! :headscrat I had it pretty much all the way up and doing about 60mph. when it started shaking from full lock to full lock. A friend was right behind me and does'nt know how i pulled it out. Ended up breaking some of the plastic clips and cracking the bottom of the fairings from it throwing my body around. Have any of you ever had this happen? Do'nt think i hit anything, and i'm pretty good at riding stoppies. By the way i have an 05 1K.

factory dampers are junk.... thats ur problem... the higher u are the more ur bike wants to go left or right, if you really wanna step it up or just save ur ass you gotta go with a good damper i just put an ohlins on my k2 and ive onliy put up a few endos... and the bike just stood there and didnt try to flop either way... Good fealing.. If ur short on cash ( i kno i would be after buyin that bike) take off take off the stocker, take out the little plug, squeeze the oil out and then suck back in a heavier weight oil.. its a quick fix but you have no adjustabllity

Thanks, i think i'll get a GPR dampner, I had one on my 636 and never had a problem with headshake. Don't know why they don't make the factory one stiffer.

Because you have to compomise on most of them, as they dont have slow and high speed damping. The ones that are ony single click style alot of guys at my shop buy, then HATE them for cruising as it is hard to turn in a parking lot or at a right hand turn

When I had my R6 I got headshake all the time. I had no stabilizer at all, think of how messy that got sometimes. I only flipped once but that wasn't because of headshake. Anyways, I also have an '05 1K and haven't experienced headshake at all, even at high speeds. You get headshake because of few of reasons though. Your height to speed ratio has a little do do with it if you're tires are fully inflated. You don't have much of a "footprint", ya know, so it wants to go side to side easier than staying on that small amount of rubber in the absolute center of the tire. Just my opinoin, lower your air pressure and get a better stabilizer.
