98 750 how many liters?JAZ_RR 02-21-2009, 01:32 AM Just picked up a 1998 GSXR 750. How many liters does it take for a oil change? I did a search and cant see to find it on the Web. Thanks sradbeezy 02-21-2009, 10:00 AM I changed the oil on my 98 750 for the first time a few weeks ago and heres how it went.I put a k&n fiter on and put 3 liters in,warmed the bike up, and held it up straight.Couldn't see any oil in the sight glass,so I added one more liter...held the bike up straight again, checked the glass and it was overfilled.I pulled the drain plug and let about a half a liter out.So with a new filter,I'd say 3 1/2 liters should be perfect for you. howardchaz 02-21-2009, 06:13 PM LITERS ???:headscrat
Don't you two mean quarts ? JAZ_RR 02-22-2009, 02:37 AM In every other part of the world they use liters. I am in Germany sradbeezy 02-22-2009, 09:13 AM A liter and a quart arer the same.In the manual for my 750 it says to use 2.8 liters for an oil and filter change.I wondered the same thing...being here in america we use quarts.Looked on the front of an oil bottle and it read:1 litre(1 Quart). As I said in my previous reply,I have the same bike and I used about three and a half quarts(liters) with a new filter and it was perfect. howardchaz 02-22-2009, 11:09 PM I forgot how close a liter and quart actually are:headshake
I use a little over 3 quarts in my 97 SRAD 600 w/ a filter change.
When I think of 3 liters, I think of a huge bottle of cheap ass soda my parents used to buy :laughingr therobster 02-23-2009, 06:31 AM Just picked up a 1998 GSXR 750. How many liters does it take for a oil change? I did a search and cant see to find it on the Web. Thanks
Look on the clutch cover it should be stamped in mililiters and then just convert to liters. | |
