It was sitting in the back of a local bike shop collecting dust. It was stripped down to the frame and motor with a 250 wheel hanging off the back. All the plastics were hanging on the wall around the shop. Right after I bought the bike, I had the shop chrome the frame and the 6" over Trac arm. Also put on an air shifter and air ride. Got the bike back and wasn't happy with the work. That following winter, I re-did everything, this time I did all the work myself. I had the frame re-chromed. Got a C&S 14" over 250 arm. Trashed the CO2 bottle for the air shifter and installed a compressor with the swingarm acting as an air tank. The single stage air ride was replaced with a DaPincci Dual air ride system. A long with all the other accessories that were added over the next few years. Just wish I had some more time to ride the bike.

Year: 2006 Model: GSX-R Engine:1000 Stock Pipe Stock Seat Stock Wheels. Custom Paint Accessories: Red annodized mesh and bar ends, Custom heel guards, Sportec wind screen, Galfer red front & rear brake lines, Vortex Swingarm spools, Frame sliders, Fender eliminator, K&N airfilter, StreetFX LED flex stands, Intake Halo, headlight Halo. Installing this weekend... Cycle pirates Black shifter and rear brake levers, Custom Pazzo clutch and front brake levers. Story: I wanted to get my bike looking just as good as what I see in the magazines, but none of that drag race look of a 18 foot stretched swing arm and a tire that would make a monster truck jelous. Tired of the same ole skulls and flames. I emailed Insane Air in Mobile, Al of my vision of a head turner, something unique to my taste and this is the paint job we come up with. I redeployed at the end of July and have been putting on parts day by day. No big name shop donationg time and money like some of the Service members I know, this is all me. http://www.gsxr.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=24575&d=1249525260 http://www.gsxr.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=24576&d=1249525284 http://www.gsxr.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=24577&d=1249525309 http://www.gsxr.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=24578&d=1249525340 http://www.gsxr.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=24579&d=1249525367
