Got2josh 08-16-2005, 09:54 PM I cringe whenever I see people riding with no gear on, and trying to learn wheelies and stuff without gear is just askin' for it. My friend went down at like 75 or so in a t-shirt and shorts 2 weeks ago, not pretty. Road rash covering his arms and legs now, and his heels are all scraped down cause his shoes flew off as soon as the hit the ground.
Lookin' good, but if you mess up a little bit and crash without gear you're going to be out for a while, just wear the crap and then don't worry about getting hurt as bad
usdm420 08-16-2005, 09:58 PM damn man you got balls and skills!!! just be careful!!!

96GSX-RNewbie 10-17-2005, 09:28 PM Hey man i am new to this, I have a 96 GSX-R750 SRAD. I so want to get the wheel off the ground and ride it. I have been trying for a couple of weeks now and i can only get it up like a foot and only for like 1 second. This is how i do it, First of all I weigh 242lbs am 6'3, my bike has a full yoshi exhaust and a bigger sporocket +2 in the rear. I get up to 15mph, pull the clutch in with one finger, rev her up to 6k and let er rip. I only try in the sitting position. I haven't tried it in the standing position yet. I feel more comfortable in the sitting position. PLEASE HELP ME. I truly desire to get er up about 3 feet and ride her out. not looking to do 12's or anything, just a cool little wheelie. PLEASE HELP ME OUT!!! I have also tried the throttle tech and can't even get the tire off the ground. :hmmm:

Grandwheelie Master 10-17-2005, 09:58 PM 15 seems a little slow. I don't really like clutching up 1st gears. I would maybe pick up a few mph or try and clutch drop them in second at around 35 or 40. It just takes a little practice. It won't happen over night. Always wear your gear and you'll do fine. And when I say gear I don't mean shorts and a tee.
96GSX-RNewbie 10-17-2005, 10:06 PM Okay so i need to go a litter faster than 15mph. I am having a hard time finding the powerband on my bike. I keep trying the throttle tech. I get it up to 6k let off the throttle completly then let it drop to 4k then full juice and the wheel doesn't even come off the ground. So in second gear i should try to go 35mph then clutch it???? Thanks for all the help :hmmm:
96GSX-RNewbie 10-17-2005, 10:26 PM I can't get my bike up. I have a 96 GSXR 750. I have tried the throttle tech. I throttle it up to 6K pull the clutch let er drop to 4k then pour on the juice full throttle and the tire doesn't even leave the ground. I try to clutch her up in first. I go about 15mph pull the clutch rev er up to like 5 or 6k and let er rip, i get the tire up, but for only like one second and only about a foot off the ground. Please help.
g6s0x0r 10-18-2005, 03:48 PM I can't get my bike up. I have a 96 GSXR 750. I have tried the throttle tech. im no serious stunter but try takin it up a little higher in the rpm's with the throttle technique in first.... maybe like 7 or 8 grand. then just bounce it up. u may be waiting a little too long to juice her back up on the rebound. it only takes a quick second.
dannygsxr1000 10-18-2005, 04:03 PM those pics are great!!!
96GSX-RNewbie 10-18-2005, 05:07 PM HELLLPPPP!!!!!!
I have been trying to wheelie my bike for a couple of weeks now. I have tried the throttle tech (no luck). I have had luck with the clutch tech, but not the luck I am looking for. I can only get my bike up like a foot. I go about 25mph in 1st gear, pull in the clutch, rev er up to like 6k and dump the clutch. I have a 96GSX-R750, I am 6'3 and weigh 242LBS. I thought i was letting off the throttle when she started to come up so today i paid close attention and i even gave her more throttle when she started to come up and still she dropped back down. Please help.
GiXREN 10-18-2005, 05:25 PM hey newbie....i have a 96 750 and its a pain to get it up...it a tank!!! but it can get up there. it sound like ur not givin it enough throttle, and ur prolly gettin scared once u feel her goin up. u just gotta go for it but be careful. try 2nd gear clutch wheelies. they're a little easier to do, but u do still need to pump up the rpm. good luck and always wear ur gear!!!
ontilt 10-18-2005, 05:38 PM If youre gonna be clutching this and reving that without the exrepience or understandaing of pow pow power wheelies and how a wheelie works pleas cover the brake and wear youre gear. make sure you tape it so you will be able to look @ it and see why you went from 9:00 to 2:00 and lost youre bike all in about .02 seconds.
just my .02
sacgsxr 10-18-2005, 10:18 PM i dont know about a 96, but first gear wheelies are kinda sketch, 1st is to twitchy and way to much power, try in second 45 mph and just wrap the hell out of it and slip the clutch, dont just dump it, slip it gently, slow and easy, till you get use to the bike jumping
USMC0844 10-19-2005, 10:04 AM Crazy ass pictures, be safe man.....
egsxr600 10-19-2005, 09:49 PM NICE PICS... GEAR!!!!!WHERE IS THE GEAR!!!!! Take care man and dont fall.
Good pics. I know this is the same as everyone else, But please wear some gear. I bought an 02 600GSXR in Jan 2005. I had 8500miles but august. My girl can drive know, so I got a new bike 2005 ZX10R ninja, 9500$ drive out. I had bike 2 weeks, 290miles. I always wear a leather/armor jacket, helmet, gloves, blue jeans boots.. I live in Texas so it does get a little hot somtimes. I am also a nurse. I wear all my gear except the jeans and boots to work. I wear my scubs, tennis shoes, jacket gloves helmet. I go in a tank slapper around 65 in 4th gear, car pulled out, i sweared, got tank slapper. I tried to ride it out, got to around 100 MPH or so. Almost hit a truck head on, luck from GOD, leaned went acroos two lanes to my right, got in a parking lot, got steering under control: speed to around 70-100MPH, tried to get on shoulder, and hit curb. I flew up, cam down, bent r handle/clip forward, hung throttle wide open again, I went across drive ways, grass islands, finnaly hit a bigger curb, bike jumped up.. My bike hit a sign on one wheel. I shot me through the top of the sign, about 12-15 foot through air. I then slid down pavement, tennis shoe came off, tore my foot up, almost lost little toe on r side. I have almost entire r side of calf road rashed deep. I had to get skin graft a large part of right thigh. jacket tried to pull off, so stomach was rashed, plus deep cut about 3 in long. Helmet saved my head and face, helmet ground up. Here is the kicker. Either as I went through sign or after falling on pavement I tore my l elbow up. I crushed the joint, no elbow bone left, broke both side of my lower humerous( upper arm bone-broke at elbow joint), and the end of my Ulna(forearm has two bones-ulna is the one on outer edge of joint.) My arm was cut almost entirely around, dam neaqr tore off, and twisted up by my head. I had steel pins and a brace on outside of my arm for a month, and now have three steel plates in. I only have 35 degrees movement, arm is almost perfectly straight. There is no garantee that I will ever get more movement, possibility of a fused elbow later if pain persist. I can not work at the present time. I am now in therapy, so We will see what happens. I am postive though. I still have my GSXR 600. I plan to ride again. I am not scared, shit happens. BUT, be prepared for shit to happen. Please wear your gear. It is not worth the pain on your body or your family. My family thought I was dead at first, then I was going to lose my arm. I put my friends and family through alot. I am 22 yo with a f#cked elbow. Also, road rash is scrapped in order for dead skin to come off, hurt like hell. Please listen to the warning. WEAR YOUR GEAR ALWAYS< IT WILL SAVE YOUR LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GSXRSTACY 11-18-2005, 07:39 PM hey dude, sorry i have not been on line lately but first is giong to hurt you if your not careful.its hard to tell someone how to wheelie because everones bike is deff and riders but is easier and smoother in 2nd , 3rd
Jesture 11-18-2005, 09:35 PM cool pix.........somebody with an 1/8 of a brain told me gear was a good thing to where though- saves the rest of us time at the car wash....blood and skin is a little tough to wash off.
SLAKKA 11-26-2005, 04:28 AM yeah... nice pics' and all .. but man..I don't think he's experienced or seen what road rash can do to someone. Had a couple of friends who trashed there bikes.. .one real bad. took doctors almost 5 hrs to remove all the dirt, sand, glass out of his skin.. legs, back, arms, face. Not a pretty site. very very painfull experience .. he couldn't move for months.. then when it all scabbed took forever to heel up. man just don't know what he's up against doing wheelies in t-shirt and shorts.
ride safe yo!!!
peace
foggysps 11-26-2005, 10:15 AM hey slakka you talkin about me.....lol
Yeah ...I agree, wear the right gear.
I'd rather be waiting for Vanson to stitch on new sleeves on my jacket and wait a few weeks than be in the hospital and laid up for much longer.
wheleking05 11-26-2005, 12:20 PM Nice pics.
Sell me those plastics and I will give you my rached ones
foggysps 11-26-2005, 02:22 PM he may not have jeans, gloves, jacket, yada yada yada but hey at least his camera crew friends are filming in style with the Lincoln Mark VIII
