I bought these a few months back for two reasons... The first was that I have never been that impressed with the brakes on any GSXR ( I've owned a K1 1000, a K1 750 and a K8 1000) and from reviews I've read, the GSXR brakes have always been it's achilles heel. They have initial bite, but once warmed up, suffer from terrible fade and you end up bringing the lever all the way to the stop to get the same braking effect. The second reason is I just love the look of the Brembo calipers. They are pure tricked up bike porn and nothing says my bike is quality like a set of Brembo calipers! The M4 Monoblocs are Brembo's attempt to make a pure road going caliper which offers unparalled performance at a relatively 'affordable' price. (approx. $999 or less) Being monoblocs ( each caliper is made from a single block and not two halves bolted together as with most calipers) means first and foremost you get no flex. In other words, all the braking power applied goes straight to the pads instead of trying to force the two halves apart as with normal calipers. This gives incredible stopping power especially when combined with the sintered brake pads included with the calipers. But that power is controllable and you get so much feedback that you can give a little or a lot easily and instantly depending on what's needed. There is also zero fade. They work as well on the last corner as they do on the first one and never let you down. These calipers are fitted as standard on the Ducati 1098R and the Ducati Desmodedici which is high praise indeed. They look the business and work fantastically. If you're not impressed with your GSXR brakes and want to do more than just change the lines and pads, I highly recommend these calipers as a worthwile modification. They can be bought to fit any Jap sportsbike with radial calipers. They improve your riding and look sweet......PERFECT! 10 out of 10 http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3654/3552482760_e21340fe6f_b.jpg
