I bought a set of 50mm black convertibars including the 5" longer front brake line. Throttle cables, clutch cable and wiring are all stock lengths on my 07 GSXR 750.
Installation was easy, following instructions included with the bars and an online video as well.
After riding with them for the last couple of months and a few thousand miles I am very pleased with the result.
I can do 350+ mile days sport or sport-touring without my shoulders or wrists getting sore and have more control of the bike.
I currently have them set about 1.5" above stock, 1.5" back and about 1.5" wider. That is about as high as I could go without anything interfering with the fairing. If you wanted to go higher, you could always trim the fairing a bit, but I dont' think I'll need to do that as everything fits me very well now.
The angle of the bars makes a world of difference for my grip.
Just rode a full track day yesterday and with the wider bars, had better control and confidence at the track as well.
The folks at Convertibars answered all my questions and were there to explain anything needed. I would highly recommend them.
They fit and finish are top notch. They are not inexpensive, but I would purchase Convertibars before spending any other money on the bike including exhaust, power commander, etc. They make that big a difference in every riding situation. (and no, I don't own stock in the company or have any ties to them...:D)
While I had everything apart, I also installed a pair of Dual Star grip heaters. With morning temps in the 40's I got to use them for the first track session...mmm toasty!
