had my first race last weekend. went in a super production race at motegi (japan) on my 2001 gsxr600 on the weekend. stifflingly hot. i qualified 21st of 39 with a 2:08.4 my best time to date.
super production is open to any size bike so i was gonna find it tough off the grid. keeping up with those 1000S on my well underpowered 600.
the light went out, i popped the front wheel up in my haste, and saw a gang of em fly by on the inside, got a clean shot into 1 on the outside only to have a guy smoke through on the brakes hem me in and drive me to the outside of the track, fortunately saving it before he drove me off. anyway i was just about in last place by this point!!! back on the game. took a few back in the next few corners, eventually getting some space. the heat was getting to me, the pack had gone, i cruised the last few laps coming in 23rd.
almost fainting upon entry to the pits i spent a minute or so with my head under a tap just to get my bearings. good experience, and ill be signing up for the next race with my new GSXR1000 that i just bought (not under powered at all!!) :thumbup:
