I usaully go about 20 miles a hour lean forward a bit and slowly start to lock up the front break. The bike leans forward but the wheel has yet to come off the ground can anyone give me some advice on this.

I usually get mine going about 100mph and then preload the front suspension by just applying the front brakes. Once there is some weight on the front tire just grab the brakes a bit harder. Since you are just starting to stoppie I would start at around 40 mph. I was a stoppie GOD on my SV-650, I think my record was something over 200 ft. :twofinger

i dont recommend going 100 then trying a endo. Id go about 15 twords a stop light then slamming on the front break and then let it lift it self up then just release it slowly and fealther it. you will soon get a hold of it and can do it at 40+ MPH but start slow get use to the feeling.

I kinda agree w/ R6 rider, Definately don't speed up to 100 and slam on the front breaks. I don't like just popping it up at like 5 mph either. I started by rolling from about 40 mph or so and tap the front break and roll your body over the front of the bike (Just enough to get the bike to lift up.) Then release the break a little and feather it like r6 said. You will start to feel it. Also lower your tire pressure. I use about 28 to 30 psi. Oh yeah and start on grippy road so your tire doesn't slip. Hope that helps.

1. Top off Gas tank 2. Get up to 120MPH 3. Get off throttle 4. slam on front brakes as hard as you can 5. as you mange to pick up your broken limbs from the pavemnet, have your buddy call 911 first then take pics for GSXR.com. 6. Post pictures GSXR.com (damn this beer is awesome!!!!)

what i do is get up to about 60 mph in 3rd gear, i down shift into first while squeezing the front brake like a nice tittie. Make sure to cover your back brake, because you dont want your back tire spinning because if you land too early, you can do a burnout lose control and crash into a cager.

Umm yeah riiiight! :headshake You need to go whatever speed YOU feel comfortable with first of all. Next you need to compress the forks fully by sqeezing the front brake and also leaning forward a bit (not too much until you have more experience). Once you have fully compressed the forks, grab a little more front brake and you should slowly feel the rear lift. Do this in small doses and progress your speed and height. Just a few other things, I learned by doing a stoppie to a complete stop, only doing about 10-15 mph at first. I also have never nor intend to ever cover my rear brake while doing these. I do them at speeds over 85mph and have never had any sort of problem from my tire still spinning rapidly while putting the ass end back down on the pavement. Maybe this is a good reason to use the clutch in method for riding out stoppies. lastly I never down shift before doing my stoppies. I usually accelerate, then grab my clutch, then lastly grab my front brake. I down shift AFTER I put the ass end down again, then ride away normally.

just pull teh clutch in and drop it, all tappin the rear brake is stop tire spin and gets rid of the nasty chain slap, i hate that noise, and dont forget endos are one of the hardest tricks in the bag, take it slow and easy fallin forwad sucks
