oakleyspatz 11-08-2009, 12:24 PM I've been after an 'affordable' triple tree for my GSXR 1000 K8 and found these on ebay. They are from the USA ( I'm in the UK) and claim to be stronger than the OE one. They look nice and are quite cheap at $79. Before I order one, I wanted some feedback from anybody who may have one fitted to their bike.
Thanks guys in advance for any help!

SlowSteve 11-08-2009, 01:58 PM Look snazzy. My opinion is that if you want less flex go with a set of race clamps and those usually offer adjustment for the offset and they will not be cheap.
If you want some nice bling, these look PDG!
But the real question is, would Fonsi approve? :headscrat
bluegixx750 11-08-2009, 02:23 PM It looks nice, but for that price, I highly doubt it could even be made for that price in the US. Never mind the company making a profit on it.
Also, I'm not a big fan of those thru pockets they put into them.

I saw the one you designed is that what you do for a profession? If not, it should be! Maybe you could make one up for me obviously at a price. I could design one and you could make it...What do you say?
I think your bike and mine are the same fitment.

Fonsi said; " Get rid of that f*ckin OE shit and put some bling on that bike...mother f*cker!" Then he put the phone down on me and told me to stop harrassing him!
Well you know I don't do many track days so as long as it's at least as good as the OE one, then that's fine with me.

Yes it is.
You need a solid model program or good cad software to design stuff like this.
suzuka1980 11-12-2009, 02:17 AM i must say that's really cheap. But usually such sales come with crazy shipping costs.
uneedthis2 11-12-2009, 06:47 AM Post up a link to where you found these!

SlowSteve 11-12-2009, 09:11 PM I don't see how those could me made for so little profit.
Just think, K, for near £75 pound sterling you can get some added stability on top there.

That looks damn sexy for $89.99 to the door!
norcalsportrider 11-13-2009, 02:19 AM Pit eck has a site. They sell fiberglass replacement fairings for a rock bottom price.
These clamps could be made if they have an "in" with a machine shop.
But the kind of riding I do - I could not afford to try something like that.
bluegixx750 11-13-2009, 03:23 AM Notice they dont tell you what grade material it is? It should be made out of 7075 alum. For great strength. And I highly doubt that it is....
mygsxr69 11-13-2009, 11:10 AM they look nice, but I'm a little skeptical....
Top yokes 12-02-2009, 01:24 PM 6082-T6 Grade alloy would be more than adequate for that yoke. 7075 grade is one of the best but there is no stress as such on the yoke (unlike bikes with superbike renthal style handlebars, bandit etc)
All the stress's are taken up in the bottom yoke and through the clip-ons which are bolted directly to the fork legs.
Ta!

Mrgrn 12-02-2009, 04:15 PM you can make a profit on those when you do like 100 of them
i had a custom rotor made in 3 axis and it took 9 min
Top yokes 12-02-2009, 11:20 PM It is the programming that takes the time, the actual machining time is fairly small. That yoke plate on a normal 3 axis would take about 20minutes including setup and turning it over etc.
