either go 600 or 1000 Chango 11-19-2009, 05:49 PM Only if you're going to be racing it. The 750 has the best of both worlds - handling of the 600 with power closer to the 1000. bluegixx750 11-19-2009, 06:04 PM Bullshit! I dont know who you been listening to, but I got an 06 750 and some gear changes and I love it. Plenty of power. And a great trackbike too. Skinned_knees 11-20-2009, 06:02 PM I have a 750 too, Can't keep up to a 1000 but can walk all over the 600. tim503 11-20-2009, 08:38 PM As far as I'm concerned, the 750 is _better_ than either the 600 or the 1000, for the same reason mentioned above. It handles better than the 1000, but still has plenty of power. It's the best of both worlds, and there are still club racing classes where it's competitive. For 99.9% of people, there's no need to worry about AMA race classes, 'cause you're never gonna do that anyway. sturific 11-21-2009, 05:23 AM You may also want to check with your insurance company...that swayed my discision to go to a 600 instead of a 750. $23 a month full coverage! (NobodyFamous) 11-21-2009, 08:48 AM Bullshit!
+1
I don't know where you're getting your info but keep researching.
And remember: Only squids get a liter bike for their first bike. UrbanMotoParts 11-21-2009, 12:32 PM 750 all the way!!! 313hitman 11-22-2009, 09:05 AM I had a 600 and did alot of mods to it an still got my ass handed to me by a 750 trust me, you'll outgro a 600 in 3 months especially if you ride hard. but for a to b purposes a 600 is best bet Lyte- 11-23-2009, 07:34 AM You may also want to check with your insurance company...that swayed my discision to go to a 600 instead of a 750. $23 a month full coverage!
Yes but its not just the engine size of the bike that makes for the rates because I insure my 750 and a liter bike and it cost me $600 a year full coverage and uninsured motorist on both. vinyljunky 11-23-2009, 09:13 AM I've got a 600 and now and probably should have gotten a 750. I didn't have big enough balls when i first got it but they have grown since then. cereal killer 11-23-2009, 09:16 AM im my opinion the 750 is the shit not that i have one ,but i have riddin them. i got i 600 due to insurance im 27 and married with a perfect driving record and it was still high. ocularus 11-23-2009, 03:26 PM I have a 750 too, Can't keep up to a 1000 but can walk all over the 600.
Can't keep up with 1000's? I take that to mean on straight roads, right?
I kind of prefer riding 750's and 600's even more (own both btw). I think it's a blast to have to shift to stay in the powerband and they change direction so much quicker than the 1000. cbreater 11-23-2009, 03:47 PM A 750 is PLENTY of bike. My wifes 02 with her on it will out run my 02 1000 with me on it in a straight line. I'm 185lbs.......you do the math. She walks on our friends ZX-12R and he's around 165lbs.
A 750 with someone light weight is a very fast machine!!!! justin 11-23-2009, 06:07 PM i really dont think that a 750 is that much more faster then a 600. they are pretty equal for the most part until you get higher in the mph thats where the 750 starts to pull away on the 600. thats just my 2cents brettshotz 11-23-2009, 06:51 PM i really dont think that a 750 is that much more faster then a 600. they are pretty equal for the most part until you get higher in the mph thats where the 750 starts to pull away on the 600. thats just my 2cents
thats cause you ride a 600 and you think its badass. 150cc's makes a difference in the two bikes. i used to ride a 600 and getting on one now just feels like nothing after riding my 750. you da man 11-23-2009, 07:03 PM Only in a straight line will the 1000 out perform it and a really good rider on a 750 or 600 will smoke an average rider on a 1000 (NobodyFamous) 11-23-2009, 07:43 PM Only in a straight line will the 1000 out perform it and a really good rider on a 750 or 600 will smoke an average rider on a 1000
+1 I call mine the R1 eater. gix wookie 11-23-2009, 08:13 PM Waste of money! :funny: Well everyone with a 1000 wants their bike to handle like a 600 whilst keeping 1000 power. Enter the 750. 600 handling, and near 150 horse standard. People have gotton 165 at the rear out of the 750 with not much more than cams, a pipe and a power commander. I can't remember the last time a 1000 got past my bike. I used to own 1000's and switched to 750's, I'm quicker if anything than I was on my thou. Waste of money:laughings jtownthug 11-23-2009, 08:16 PM I have owned a zx750 and currently own a Honda vfr 750 and gsxr 750. Only one company still makes a sport 750 and the reason is that they have unquestionably owned that class for over 20 years. justin 11-23-2009, 08:45 PM thats cause you ride a 600 and you think its badass. 150cc's makes a difference in the two bikes. i used to ride a 600 and getting on one now just feels like nothing after riding my 750.
no its not because of that its because i raced my buddie on his k8 750 and he really didnt start pulling away till we got high in the mph. and his is all stock and mine is modded K7GSXRTHAIGUY 11-23-2009, 11:01 PM whoevr told u a 750 is a waste of money needs a swift kick to the head!!! this bike has been a best seller for dealerships for yrs and at times u cant evn find them for sale cuzz the owners dnt wanna give them up... ryde a 750 and then make up ur mind... u wont be sorry trust me... netskiman 11-24-2009, 05:50 AM Like most the lads say regarding insurance, I am in that same boat. I went with the 600, but would have preferred the 750  yakitori 11-24-2009, 11:20 AM those horsepower figures are a bit inflated (unless its referring to crank hp) Wheel horse will be more like mid 120s to low 130s.
I love my 750, and I ride a 1000 too. I seem to have more fun on my 750 though. 1000 is good for the streets though. I wouldnt recommend you get a 1000 for a first bike. | |
