Why you DO NOT mess with PCUSB buttons

The first is a map for a Yoshimura with Stock filter on an 01-03 GSXR 600........ Now in the second map notice that I adjusted the midrange %6 using the buttons. Now.... first the thing youll notice is the Yellow. This is what we call an 'unrideable range" main concern here though is the %0 throttle column. You see all that fuel you just added? That fuel is being dumped in when the throttle being closed. This causes poor mileage AND deceleration popping due to unburnt fuel being burnt inthe exhaust tract. Next youll notice the Blue area..... EVERYthing here was adjusted + %6. Now this bike was having trouble at %80 -%100 throttle openings through the mid RPM range. It needed a bit more fuel to make the bike not stumble at full throttle runs (drag racing). But youll notice by using the buttons i ALSO added %6 fuel to the highway CRUISE range (%10-%40 throttle 5500-8500 RPM) which made it WAY rich at these areas, and thus use WAY more fuel than it needed killing fuel economy. The inverse is also the case, if you are getting poor mileage and you try to adjsut it with the buttons you can KILL peak HP performance and thus be VERY sadly dissapointed. All is said......... DONT FUCK WITH THE BUTTONS!!!!!!!!! The only reason they are there, is Dynojets competition in other markets ONLY use the buttons, and use it to say "look our product is simpler than Dynojets" so dynojet puts them there to shut the competiotion up. this is straight from a representatives mouth.

Diddo!!! been there and done that as well myself. hey Joe, i was wondering if when you did any of the adjustments with the maps do you run with the accelerator pump on or off? i've heard mixed reviews about this free little upgrade. just wanting to get another members opinion on it. i run with it on and right around the suggested street settings. i want toi mess around with it but i did some fijjiting with my old pc3 (!THE DAMN BUTTONS!) and will NEVER touch those damn things again. that and the fact that my friend told me he would load up a custom map for me which was great until i found out that the dumbass loaded a map for a 1000 on my 750!............ :hmmm: ......no wonder the bike ran like shit for the first 15 min until i put it back on the laptop, found out the problem and then ran my buddy off. soon enough, i'm just gonna break down and have my bike custom mapped and be done with it. thanks for the info and the warnings though man, cause like with any new toy on a bike, almost everyone wants to either mess with it or leave it the hell alone! most times, it's hard to tell which is the better to do unless someone speaks from experience!

No real use to use the accelerator pump, unless you get a stumble when WHACKING the throttle from a crusie state. That is all an accelerator pump does. They way the dyno jet one works is if it sees a given amount of throttle rotation in a given period of time, it will add the selected amount of fuel for the selected duration. It is more for harleys than anything really. They are notorious for stumbling when you WHACK the throttle as you have one throttle body (or carb) feeding both cylinders, and it will stall the air out in the manifold when you whack it open, so it gives a bit of a squirt of fuel to keep things moving. You %99 of the time dont need it on a sport bike, and thus are just adding fuel unnecessarily. I didnt mention previously either, but those pics I showed are a bit miss leading. you WILL NOT see the changes on the graph when you use the buttons, I just made it look like it to illustrate the point.

 Thanks again bro! it's times like these when i REALLY don't miss the "other" site, ya know! when you ask any type of little question and get the full blown frontal flame job and then the same guy's telling you that he's bangin' your mom or some crap like that! I know, i planted the seed now for the jokesters out there :damn: ( i know who you are). please, don't even start that shit! LOL............ thanks again Mr. Moto! :funny: sorry bout' that, i had to vent a little. :funny:

Only time I would "play" with the buttons... is if I'm traveling to an area with much greater altitude. Other than that they are worthless.

Only time I would "play" with the buttons... is if I'm traveling to an area with much greater altitude. Other than that they are worthless. this also holds some truth as the commanders do not compensate for altitude change as far as i know but that's why they sell the hub and 3 way switch so you can hold 3 seperate maps just for this reason. STAY AWAY FROM THE BOTTONS! don't even look at em!

Well, I think about a week ago I was pressing those buttons. I guess I am going to have to reload the map to reset the bottons. :shifty

I have had sucess with the buttons. When I went to Sturgis I went full lean on my map on Low and Mid for slabbin' and it got my mileage up 5-10%. Modern FI bikes seem to make their own changes with all the IAP and IAT sensors and the PC3 doesn't seem to help much. Especially in cold weather.
