2nd trackday and half-way through the 2nd session I low-sided in the carosel right after the horseshoe, spent 2 hrs trying to find a rearset and the rest of the day trying to find the mojo I lost in the fall. I finally found it on the last 2 laps of the day..............figures. So if anyone has a lower right fairing for a silver 03 1K( for cheap) and a right handlebar (lever and all) let me know

i don't have the parts that you need, but i thought it might help your mojo that i had a low side in turn 5 on lap 6 of the first session...i to need a leftside clip on and lowerset...what sux about my luck was the bike had framesliders on it and they worked great...until it went off in the grass and the windshield "double bubble" dug into the grass and broke not only the windshield but the upper and lower fairings on the left side....so if it makes you feel better sombody did crash BEFORE you.....

Sucks dude, sorry to hear about that. My frame sliders did their job, I put out a call over the PA and this guy just happened to have an extra, so we bent, pulled a nd pushed for a while, but it passed tech so I was back out. Funny thing is though I was on fire for 3 laps, then fell. It's amazing how much I just didn't trust the bike after that. I am going to try to sell it after I get it fixed (or before if someone wants it) and get a track bike, I just can't see trashing a wonderful bike like that. Still runs like a scalded dog though!

I know what you mean about a track bike, I'm considering geting a set of race body work for mine and making it my track day bike "mainly because race fairings are so cheap". I felt really good before my crash too, my lap timer was reading consistant 1:38 laps. Not race pace for most folks but that was the fastest I'd been thus far. Oh well shit happens but the sun still came up the next morning, and I'll get my rocket fixed "03 1K Blue in color" and be back hopefully by the october date.. :bounce

Compared to stock bodywork it's cheap but a set of Sharkskinz or Armour Bodies can run around $900. AKcomposites is great stuff and you can grab a full set for around $675-ish shipped. Some of the "cheaper" stuff is what it is...cheap. I've seen some stuff practically explode like peanut brittle on just a lowside. Think of it like this. You can spend about $1000-$1200 on race glass (plus paint and fasteners) and close to another grand on aftermarket race/track parts making you have a really expensive track only bike or pain in the ass street bike that you have to change over to track every trackday. Plus, you still haven't even invested in the suspension. The option is to get you a slightly banged up track bike/race bike with some good mods and suspension (another $1000-$2000 depending on how exotic the suspension setup is) for $3200-$4000 and you have a second bike that you don't have to worry about wadding up.

thanks a bunch for the info, i was hoping that somebody would chip in some knowledge to the situation. i have been further checking out the damage done by the spill... i removed the rear tail cowling only to find the rear subframe was bent down on the left side....do you think its worth the money to pick up a rear subframe from ebay or just shim a new tailcowling to fit on the bent subframe????

Sorry to hear about your damage, this happenend to me last year onTalladega. It made me be more careful on barber this year. You can get you sub frame straightened by www.gmdcomputrack.com but I don't know how much that will be. You can get a sub frame on ebay for about 180 to 250 dollars. Fall time is a good time to ge parts since they go cheaper with it being off season.
