06 600 & 750 - Official Pictures & Info

Hi guys, just to let you know that these were published in the UK today. http://www.gixxer.com/uploads/newgsxr.jpg Summary of write up: All new motor, designed to be as compact as possible to allow underslung exhuast. High gearbox and clutch tucked in behind cylinders instead of behind engine block. Main silencer and cat are triangular shaped and are fitted under gearbox, second silencer poking out on righthand side. New frame that curves over the engine rather than wrapping around it to allow much bigger ram-air intakes. No power figures yet, but expected 115bhp and 135bhp at the rear wheel. Both bikes have brake calipers from GSXR-1000, with the 750 getting titanium-nitrade coated forks. Lighter and slimmer wheels, blue for the 600 and black for the 750. Weight expected to be below 160kg. Similar swingarm to GSXR-1000, with wide range of wheelbase adjustment.

they look so sweet :clap: , but I can't really afford to change my bike every 2 yrs or so wish I can get one, I knew they'll look like the 1000.

i dont know about you guys but i dont really liek the turn signals on the mirrors. other then that, its a sweet bike and i would buy one in a heart beat.

Did you see the smoked out signal covers? makes it pretty much look like the signals aren't even there when it isn't flashing. They only cost like...$30 I think on ebay.

I am SEROUSLY diggin the new blue wheels though..... bought time they werent either black or white........ not counting limeted editions like gold and shit..

I think they should make an all black version...with bronze rims....that would be heaven.

In the pic both bikes have the same forks, the 750 was listed as titanium not the 600. Anyone else notice that?

i am into the blue rims, they look sweet, i just dont like how much more open the fairings are. thats just me.

Yup I'm starting to like the blue rims now...and I also have to agree on the fairings. Don't really care for them being so small and open like that. Hmmm...one thing I forgot to ask...are they going to have a slipper clutch? I'm guessing they would since Kawi has one in their bike.

Probably has to to with higher engine performance so more need for cooling. Better wind flow etc. Is this blue lighter? Why don't they just intergrate the blinkers on each side of the head light. Instead on the mirrors. That would make it look more like in the picture below, or even could use clear glass with colored light bulbs.

I'm guessing legal wise having the turn signals there wouldn't be the best move. Like the R1's have them by the headlights...but they also have the ones on the side. I'm guessing there's some type of rule of how far apart they have to be or something. A good thing about having them on the mirrors is cars would probably be able to see them a lot better. Since it would be more at eye level when they're in their cars.

That is true, but I have also heard from my friend they are hard to see out of. Too much vibration with them to see out of them clearly. I don't know if he's just driving 150mph all the time or what. He has the 2005 GSXR1000 with the turn signals in the mirrors. He put the 2004 or 2003 mirrors on his and moved the signal wiring to the indicator lights just like the picture below that bikerxl posted. Guessing the fairings are open because the exhaust is in there cooking the engine and fairing.

How much of a "coincidence" could it be that yamaha and suzuki went with a short stubby exhaust for the new bikes on the same year.. hmmmm blue rims are pretty slick too.. i like the turn signals in the mirrors. that way when i take off the mirrors, no signal holes in my fairings.. who needs them anyway.. :thefinger

Can't really compare a new 750 and a new 1000... i'm contenplating an upgrade next spring and i think mine is between an R1 and a 750. personally i've never really liked the exhaust on the gsxr 1000 but really like what they have done with the 06 750 if that pic is legit. i know for the most part we all go aftermarket on the exhaust but i still don't like the after market exhausts on the gsxr 1000.

The 06 stuff probably won't be out until late winter--just when we'll be able to ride! I'm thinkin along the lines of a new '06 750. I just want to see what the shorty pipes look like in person. Any idea what these things will cost??

I really like the 06 600. I have seen some pictures of a red and white one. Im thinking about one of those for next year, but wether I get one or not I will never give up my 03 1K.

I love that red! I hope they offer that color in the US. I would probably have to pick one up. Then I could stretch my 1K and make it a show/strip bike and I would still have a kick ass bike for the twisties.

I dont think it will be too loud. There is a good size muffler under the bike. It isnt just the size of the muffler that quiets it down but more how it is designed.

I sat on the new GSX-R 1000 to get the feel of how the new 750 would be because the Buell I just test rode sucked. I'm waiting until the spring to purchace a 750... :bounce
