well this is really pertaining to Yamaha's line-up. I browsed the internet to look at the weights and prices of the 2006 Yamaha R6. They want $9,199 for Team Blue, $9,299 for Raven, and $9,499 for the Anniversary scheme. Are they serious? :infrandom I thought Honda was pushing it at $8,999. Is this a sign that Suzuki will be in the $9,000 range as well? :headscrat Also, I went to the dealership to see if they had any new bikes... of course not. He want to sell me an 05 R6 for $100 off sticker :headshake He also said with the new credit system, it will be harder for younger guys to buy the bikes because its a debt/credit ratio (or something like that). Yamaha can keep their bikes, for $600 more I can buy a 1k. C'MON SUZUKI SHOW US WHAT YOU GOT **cough** yellow/black 600 **cough**

Suzuki has always been cheaper by a few houndred on the sticker price so i am guessing it will be maybe 400 more than the 05 but i am doubting that much of a jump. They dont need to raise there prices the 06's will sell like hot cakes.

9k and over for a 600 is non-sense. For another 1-1.5/k you can get a 1000. :headshake OR a new Gixxer 750 which will out run and gun any 600.

NUKIN FUTZ!!! But the sad thing is that people will pay that price and soon this high price will be considered a low price for a bike. Kinda like the gas prices we are paying.

I dont think 18,000 will be considered normal for a Japanese liter bike for a long time. But you are probably right about the 600's, but hopefully Suzuki will maintain the slighlty lower prices.

Not that i'm defending yamaha by any means but for that price on the LE model you do get some trick parts.. Like adjustable Ohlins suspension front AND rear, Marchesini forged aluminum wheels, special swingarm (16mm longer), and a few minor frame upgrades. Not that these parts justify the price, if I were to put the Marchesini wheels and the Ohlins suspension on my 03 1K....the bastard would be unbeatable (with a good rider of course), and I'd have enough money left to buy a keg or 2... I don't think that the people who have 18K to drop on a bike will buy the yamaha, they will probally stick with their ducati's......

Im not sure where he saw that price but I heard it from a salesman at a dealer. 17-18000. It does have Ohlins suspension, worth around 4000, and then the Marchesini wheels cost around 2000-2500 i believe. Plus it has a slipper clutch and some other little misc things. Its a sick bike but I wouldnt spend that much on it. And you are also probably right that people with that money will probably buy Italian bikes.

Ahhh :) nothing better than coming home from a long day at work to find a cycle world mag in the mail. It has all the new info on all manufactures new lines... well at least the available info. It state the R1 LE will "be upwards of $15k" which isn't bad I suppose considering the options they are offering. The R6 looks bad ass though, I think they figured 150 at the crank. More importantly Suzuki news... When asked if the new 600 and 750 will have a higher redline as the R6 they declined to release any info... hopefully suzuki will be able to match the complete redesign of the hammys.
