fassina4 11-21-2005, 10:55 AM All right I started something like this last year and got some good opinions. I was think about trying to get together a trackday that us members could attend together. Of course I would say have it at Barbers.......but I am willing to come to any track in the SouthEast. What org. would you rather ride with? I know alot of us is members with alot of different orgs. lets try and pick a date and stick to it. Even if you dont ride we could make it a huge Barbecue/Party and all go out afterwards. If it is at Barbers we could cookout at my house and hit up Birmingham that night. I have some room for some of you guys to crash if needed. I am a member of NESBA and STT. I am not sure but I think there will be some local sponsored trackdays as well. We have a few months to get it together. IF this works out I will get a bigg ass tent for us to pit together. I might be able to get a custom GSXR.com tent.
Opinions?.....
Which Org.? Nesba, STT, Local....other
Which Track? Barbers, VIR, Jennings.....other
:hmmm: :hmmm: :hmmm: :hmmm:
scott2t2 11-21-2005, 02:15 PM i'm up for it. i live just north of montgomery. good idea fassina
SmokeEm 11-21-2005, 02:24 PM Hell yea, Im up for it. North Carolina here.
mike s 11-21-2005, 02:42 PM i'm in let me know  Barber is my vote :bounce
dannygsxr1000 11-21-2005, 03:15 PM I am in. I am in Atlanta. So Barbers is good for me also. When? I hope before Dec 29.
JakeUSAF 11-22-2005, 05:12 AM Barber is BIG bucks but if you can find a way to do it for reasonable money I am there LOVE that place.
wickmaster 11-22-2005, 06:37 AM I would love to but I could never make it down. Too much going on here.
Motojoe_23 11-22-2005, 08:32 AM Jennings is alot cheaper, but Iwould be down for whatever........ Ihave 5 tracks within 3 hours of me :D set a date. I think Gixxer.com is setting a date for jennings in January
scott2t2 11-22-2005, 08:44 AM moto...what tracks are you talking about besides jennings and barber? road atlanta and where else?
fassina4 11-22-2005, 09:22 AM I really dont care either. Barbs is the only track I have been on. I am down for whatever. Another option is that we could rent out little talladega for about 1000.00. I think that covers the Meds also.....maybe. But get about 10 or 11 peeps and we have a track all to our selves all day long. I am willing to travel. So Lets try and set a ball park date and I will check to see what is going to be available around those times.
fassina4 11-22-2005, 09:29 AM Looks liek Barbers 2006 schedule is out and there are at least on trackday every month and even three in others. I CANT WAIT!
http://www.barbermotorsports.com/events.html
JakeUSAF 11-22-2005, 01:01 PM Have heard nothing but bad things about Talladga! WOuld not be interested in that track.
VIR Barbers or Jennings I think would be the best.
Also I think it needs to be in the spring before iit gets too HOT!
mike s 11-22-2005, 01:21 PM LIL T is a good track if we have people that have never been on a track before. i would rather go to BARBER
Motojoe_23 11-22-2005, 05:56 PM moto...what tracks are you talking about besides jennings and barber? road atlanta and where else?
Barber, Talladega GP, Road Atl, Roebling Road, Jennigs GP.
I am down for whereever. I would rather not have to join NEsba or STT, as it seems like a waste to me, when there are so many private days, but whatever. i will if I have to.
fassina4 11-22-2005, 07:29 PM Ok.. I put up a poll to see which track will have the highest attendance. Once a track is established I will see which trackday they offer that has best price and best organized. I will try to get some info on the private trackdays so you guys will not have to pay for club memberships. Lets just see if we can get this rolling.
Motojoe_23 11-22-2005, 08:01 PM Damn dude, well Road A would be SWEET, but how many track days do they do there?
Realistically, Talladega or Jennings or Roebling for private day........ but Barber or Road A if we decide to use a club day
rev411 11-23-2005, 10:49 AM Realistically, Talladega or Jennings or Roebling for private day........ but Barber or Road A if we decide to use a club day
I'm in. But I gots my 9 ifn you pass me again!
fassina4 11-23-2005, 10:52 AM I'm in. But I gots my 9 ifn you pass me again!
Ill give you a love tap when pass your ass again. LOL. Make sure you vote on a track.
rev411 11-23-2005, 10:52 AM Forgot to add, if we have more than 10 at Lil T, we need corner workers, but I don't think that would be hard. Also Mondays and Tuesdays are cheaper, and they will have an ambulance there just in case I start a lawn service with my bike. :D
rev411 11-23-2005, 10:54 AM I'm down for all of them. Only been on Barber's though.
bambam454 11-23-2005, 08:19 PM I've been to Barber, Jennings, and VIR. They all rock and are great tracks to attend even if you've never been before. Most of the clubs will waive memberships for 1 day,and possibly cut a discount if you have a group of people planning on attending. My vote was for VIR because it's the farthest north and we could get more riders fron say Pa. and Oh. and maybe even Nj and Ny to attend. I've been on track at VIR with people from even farther away but just trying to be realistic. ASLO the only way to get into Barber will be Piggybacked with another group and then we have to play by their rules and classifications (not necessarially a bad thing). We would also have to contend with their members getting first crack at what ever date we choose.
I guess a better vote would be for Jennings or Roebling ( cheaper and easier to get) but I'll try to hit any of them. Also lets try to shoot for a sunday date since I have to work most saturdays.
scott2t2 11-24-2005, 06:49 AM i originally voted for Barbers.....but it's like 198-200 bucks for one day. i can get a discount from Jennings. It's just down the road from Valdosta, Ga. Valdosta Suzuki (where I got my bike) does a lot of sponsering for the races there. might be able to get all of us a discount on the fees. I'll have to ask.
mike s 11-25-2005, 08:50 AM ^ that would be sweet bro
scott2t2 11-27-2005, 11:48 AM so....what's the word? Fasssina....what's going on? any decisions yet? first of the year? december?
fassina4 11-28-2005, 07:16 AM It will probably be after January. Barbers doesnt have one till Feb. with NESBA. NESBA does have a steep $75 Membership fee plus $200/day track fee. Plus it will be COLD in Feb. This is just me but I would like for it to be at least 50 degrees out side. I did the cold last year and it sucked. I will show up for anyting tho.

WOW!! $275 for one day of riding!! i think we might be better off making the trip to Jennings.
Motojoe_23 11-28-2005, 07:43 PM shit you can ride BOTH days for that at Jennings LOL
Motojoe_23 11-28-2005, 07:44 PM and BTW it is BARBER MOTORSPORTS PARK............. no "S" at the end of Barber damn hillbillies
Chango 11-29-2005, 01:01 AM My personal preference would be Barber with STT. That way I can show all you bitches how to get around turn 5. The only guys who could pass me and stay past me through turn 5 were Kevin Schwantz, Mitch Boehm, Brian Catterson, and another guy from Motorcyclist when I was there in October. Some folks could pass me on the way in, but they were braking too hard to make the turn so I just passed them back on the way out and never saw them again... BOW DOWN BEFORE ME! Or not. Oh, I was only in the Intermediate group, so I'm really not all that fast, but I do like turn 5.
Now for the tricky part: The 2006's won't get here to central Arkansas until March or April according to the local dealership, so I won't have a bike until then, due to mine getting stolen a couple of weeks ago. And since I absolutely must have the gray/black one (the better to match my leathers), I'm pretty much at the mercy of American Suzuki... Oh, and I would prefer to get to ride the bike for at least one day before taking it to the track. One day will be enough to get it to the 600 mile first service; especially after 4-5 months without a bike! At least it comes with Bridgestone BT-014's this time instead of those daggum Dunlops, so that's one thing I won't have to swap out as soon as I get the bike...

fassina4 11-29-2005, 07:10 AM and BTW it is BARBER MOTORSPORTS PARK............. no "S" at the end of Barber damn hillbillies
yeah yeah....... :twofinger
fassina4 11-29-2005, 07:12 AM WOW!! $275 for one day of riding!! i think we might be better off making the trip to Jennings.
That is only with nesba. STT is like 30 dollar membership fee and then $200 for the day.
fassina4 11-29-2005, 07:13 AM That way I can show all you bitches how to get around turn 5. The only guys who could pass me and stay past me through turn 5 were Kevin Schwantz, Mitch Boehm, Brian Catterson, and another guy from Motorcyclist when I was there in October. Chango
BRING IT ON BIYATCH! :twofinger
Tommy Cole 12-03-2005, 06:06 AM Ive been to barber once & id like to go there or taledega if yall dont mind a very slow old man.
scott2t2 12-03-2005, 06:37 AM Ive been to barber once & id like to go there or taledega if yall dont mind a very slow old man.
i'm 38 Tommy....older than most of the people on here. there are a few of us over 30.... :laughingr i wouldn't mind trying talladega. it doesn't look too challenging. i have never been on a track. i hope we can all get together and do this.....
JakeUSAF 12-03-2005, 02:01 PM And some over 40! :D
ttruckinon 12-03-2005, 02:12 PM I do a lot of NESBA track days and I'm planning on doing Barber April 14th/15th. If you come just look for the "Team Redneck" trailer!
ttruckinon 12-03-2005, 02:24 PM i'm 38 Tommy....older than most of the people on here. there are a few of us over 30.... :laughingr i wouldn't mind trying talladega. it doesn't look too challenging. i have never been on a track. i hope we can all get together and do this.....
Damn! I'm 54 and still trying to go fast!
ttruckinon 12-03-2005, 02:28 PM That is only with nesba. STT is like 30 dollar membership fee and then $200 for the day.
Last year NESBA was $190 for the first day and $180 for the second day. The membership fee was $75 but you got a $25 credit on your next track day with them. It's a pretty expensive two day trip for me due to the distance but last year was worth every penny! BARBER ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Chango 12-03-2005, 08:04 PM With STT, the membership fee was $30 or $35, but I got a $25 discount on a set of Michelin Pilot Powers or Power Races as long as I bought them and got them mounted and balanced at the track. Plus, they are an official Michelin distributor now, so they sell the tires cheaper than most online places I've seen. The Pilot Powers were $100 front, $130 rear for my 600; Power Races were also available much cheaper than most other places. And since I didn't have my tire changing stuff at the time, it was worth it for me to buy them there.

scott2t2 12-09-2005, 11:07 AM has anyone decided on a date yet? or where?
fassina4 12-09-2005, 11:55 AM Hell no. It looks like Barbers is the preference. Peeps are complaing about having to join a club to ride. I am trying to find a day that doesnt have a large memebership fee. Probably STT.
scott2t2 12-09-2005, 12:20 PM Hell no. It looks like Barbers is the preference. Peeps are complaing about having to join a club to ride. I am trying to find a day that doesnt have a large memebership fee. Probably STT.
well...once they join and do a track day...they will forget all about it and be hooked!! i have yet to do a track day. but i know once i do, i will want to keep doing it.
Motojoe_23 12-12-2005, 09:33 PM I am already hooked, but I can ride Jennigs Tally and Roebling for $125 one day.
fassina4 12-13-2005, 11:19 AM I am already hooked, but I can ride Jennigs Tally and Roebling for $125 one day.
Its still no Barber. I do want on some different tracks tho!
JakeUSAF 12-23-2005, 04:15 AM So the dates are out lets pick a date or are we going to wait for STT dates. I would really like Barbers the best buyt Jennings is cheaper. :hmmm:
fassina4 12-23-2005, 07:02 AM I voted for barbers as well. Ill pay the extra$$...that track is awesome!
JakeUSAF 12-28-2005, 04:05 AM Sportbike Track Time has release some of ther edates also. COme on lets pick a place and a date! I am having Track withdraws.
dlgixxer600 12-30-2005, 07:35 AM How much is it at Barbers?
scott2t2 12-30-2005, 07:39 AM How much is it at Barbers?
190-200 per day. plus membership with NESBA OR STT
GSXRCHICK 12-30-2005, 07:52 AM Well I dont think I will be riding the track, but I will go watch you guys.
JakeUSAF 12-30-2005, 11:21 AM SO when and where. I can get us in to Jennings in March. The local shop here has the track reserved for a date in March. It is always a small group. Want to make that happen?
dlgixxer600 12-30-2005, 01:34 PM Jake Usaf...where R U From?
JakeUSAF 12-30-2005, 03:54 PM From Maryland but I live in Ft. Walton Beach Fl. Now.
Motojoe_23 12-31-2005, 09:35 AM It is BARBER............... NO "S"
and lets get the thing scheduled Fassina.........

Motojoe_23 01-01-2006, 09:24 PM I'm down, ordering my suit tomorrow :bounce:
I still refuse to believe it. I want to se a picture of you with the leathers on. Then I will START to consider believing you are getting on the track. Still wont believe it until I pass your slow ass on the track though. Once I see you there I will beleive it.
ZgixxeR 01-02-2006, 06:55 PM I still refuse to believe it. I want to se a picture of you with the leathers on. Then I will START to consider believing you are getting on the track. Still wont believe it until I pass your slow ass on the track though. Once I see you there I will beleive it.
:2hard Do you know how much I want to get on the track? As soon as I get them in I will post a pic for you. Is that ok sweet cheeks? See if this works for you biotch. This is where I ordered my suit if you can see it punk.
fassina4 01-03-2006, 07:27 AM Alright now that the Holidays are over with lets get to plannin. I think cheapest way to get on Barber is through STT. roughly gonna cost 225 the first time. There are some cheaper one at barber but not until later in the summer. Lets post up a date at each track the we WILL show up at. Dont be postin here unless you are gonna come.
Chango 01-03-2006, 07:58 AM Daggum Barber. I just checked the schedule, and the dates in March are no good for me. The next one is in May, and I'll be going to that one, but it's a "private" day for members and guests of the RC-51 Owners Group, so nobody else can. I don't think I'll get back to Barber until the last weekend in October, which ain't exactly soon... June, July, and August are a bit too hot for my tastes. I don't mind a little sweat, but I don't want my leathers crunching when I take them off at the end of the day... Maybe I'll make it in March, but I hate to say I will because I don't know exactly when the 2006 600 will get here... Daggum Barber. Daggum other stuff getting in the way. Daggum.
fassina4 01-06-2006, 12:22 PM What
JakeUSAF 01-07-2006, 05:39 PM Come on lets pick a date or are you all poser's? Or I will just do my own thing.
fassina4 01-09-2006, 10:07 AM :2hard Do you know how much I want to get on the track? As soon as I get them in I will post a pic for you. Is that ok sweet cheeks? See if this works for you biotch. This is where I ordered my suit if you can see it punk.
So have your leathers come yet?
Motojoe_23 01-09-2006, 07:25 PM Waiting for mister " I cant do a wheelie......... Now I cant to a wheelie cause Im a wusie using I got shot for an excuse" here.
I keed I keed.
But fassina is SUPPOSED to be heading this up I thought.
fassina4 01-09-2006, 09:08 PM Yeah I was. I got your wheelie's! I was trying to wait and see how warm it was going to be in Feb. I say lets do a march or April day. March is best for me bu I will come to whatever.
Barbers Schedule:
Feb. 4 - 5 NESBA Private Event
Feb. 25-26 PBOC Private Event
March 4 - 5 NESBA Private Event
March 11 - 12 PCA DE Private Event
March 18 - 19 Sportbike Private Event
March 31 - April 2 WKA Nationals Purchase Tickets
April 7 - 9 SVRA Purchase Tickets
April 14 - 15 NESBA Private Event
April 21-23 AMA Purchase Tickets
May 6 - 7 WERA Purchase Tickets
May 12 - 13 Sportbike Private Event
May 20 - 21 NESBA Private Event
May 26 - 28 BMW Club Private Event
Lets pick one of these dates and commit to going. I can go to any of them. I think the Feb. date will be miserably cold. I did a March last year and it was pretty miserable. Maybe I am a "wussie". Who is actually going to come down and commit? I thought it might have been best to wait to see if the weather is going to make up its mind. Also i really needed a little more time to get better on my feet but fuck it. I am down hurt or not. No excuses from me. Lets just do it. Do you think another polll for the dates or just post up our preference and go with the majority. Now this is assuming that Barber is the track that the majority wanted. Dont make any suggestions unless you are coming. I dont want to see any big talkers with no legs. :twofinger
fassina4 01-09-2006, 09:15 PM Okay there are 32 votes .....there better be a big turn out!
I know i am in...who else! I say March 4th or the 18th.
fassina4 01-09-2006, 09:18 PM So have your leathers come yet?
Im sure Zach will have some damn excuse to wait until next year. :infrandom
JakeUSAF 01-10-2006, 03:57 AM Pick the date and I will be there. :D
fassina4 01-10-2006, 07:55 AM Since STT is cheaper let s go with the 18th - 19th. We will need to buy ahead of time because it will fill up FAST! So who else will commit. I live close by so we can barbecue and drink at my house or hit up the town afterwards! I am even up for camping.
GSXRHeart 01-10-2006, 12:39 PM Sounds like fun, I just live up in Huntsville and I should be able to make it. Will have to check with the calender boss once I get home from work.
Motojoe_23 01-10-2006, 04:34 PM FINALLY, someone commits to something..............
so, just how bad can an 01 600 pull on Fassinas newer more powerfull bike at his HOME track, who wants to be there to see me show him the short way around barber :pimp:
fassina4 01-10-2006, 04:47 PM FINALLY, someone commits to something..............
so, just how bad can an 01 600 pull on Fassinas newer more powerfull bike at his HOME track, who wants to be there to see me show him the short way around barber :pimp:
Well well well the smack talkin has begun! Lets see a 600 fully race prepped with all the goodies v. a stocker 1000 on street tires? :headscrat
Well i guess you have no excuses when when i reach over leaned over in the carousel and pat ya on the back telling ya you are doing good as I pass ya.
You know that 6 is better on the track! The only short way you know is around the short bus! :infrandom :twofinger
fassina4 01-10-2006, 04:49 PM FINALLY, someone commits to something..............
so, just how bad can an 01 600 pull on Fassinas newer more powerfull bike at his HOME track, who wants to be there to see me show him the short way around barber :pimp:
Dont worry either way I will share Z with ya he can be your pit bitch too since he wont even be on the track! :laughingr
fassina4 01-11-2006, 09:46 AM So for you's that are going to participate which group are you signing up for. Being the first trackday I will attend and with me being hurt I might sign up as a beginner if they will let me. I am not sure how strict they are bout that stuff. But if most is going to sign up for I , I will just take it easy at first then get up to speed? THe only thing about the B group is that the first two session are SLOW, then they let you go!
So which is it. I would like everyone to try and get to ride together with the exceptions of BAMBAM and a few other A guys!
Are you gonna do the two day or just one day. If one day which one?
JakeUSAF 01-11-2006, 03:57 PM I will do the inter. group this will be my 4 and 5 day at Barber if you have never done a track day you need to start in the street group. Lot different street and track.
Motojoe_23 01-11-2006, 04:41 PM I will be intermediate as well. Probably only do one day, but depends on money really.
fassina4 01-11-2006, 04:45 PM Intermediate it is! I should be fine by then. I am getting my bike back next week so I will have some time to ride by then if it stays warm. This will be my 3rd or 4th day at Barber also. This should be FUN!
Chango 01-14-2006, 06:45 AM I know it'll be MUCH later in the season, but I'll be going to Barber with STT on 28-29 October, and I'll be in Intermediate both days.
On a side note, the folks from Motorcyclist magazine say that they'll be back next October as well. If they are, and if they get "all session" passes again, you just might get passed by them. You can't imagine how slow you'll feel until they all pass you like you're stopped. It is mind-boggling.

ZgixxeR 01-14-2006, 03:48 PM I have to start at beginner but maybe I'll move up quickly.
Oh and a big FUCK YOU for all you who say I have excuses. Here you go bitches, I got my suit and I will be there. So kiss my ass.
Oh and I'm signing up with NESBA too.
Motojoe_23 01-16-2006, 03:28 PM Look at those nice VIRGIN pucks.........
Hey Fassina, how much you wanna bet there still virgin after the track day :pimp:
fassina4 01-16-2006, 05:33 PM Look at those nice VIRGIN pucks.........
Hey Fassina, how much you wanna bet there still virgin after the track day :pimp:
Ok I will give him alittle credit....I say he will get down a scuff or two on his right side. I bet 50 buck te left side stay as shiny as it is now. I mean there are like 14 right hand turns and two lefty's.... If he cant get his right side down tahn he is a bitch kinda like Andy.......what a puss!
Chango 01-16-2006, 06:37 PM Now now, children... I didn't get my knee down during my first track day either. Granted, it was the day Tropical Storm Arlene was in town, so it was soaking wet... I didn't get my knee down until the second day of the weekend, after the track had dried.

ZgixxeR 01-16-2006, 07:45 PM They always have something to say. Thanks for taking my back somewhat Fassina. As long as it is dry I WILL get a knee down but Fassina is right, it's going to be hard to get my left knee down with three lefts and 12 rights.
fassina4 01-17-2006, 10:41 AM They always have something to say. Thanks for taking my back somewhat Fassina. As long as it is dry I WILL get a knee down but Fassina is right, it's going to be hard to get my left knee down with three lefts and 12 rights.
I might sign up in the B group and drag you around the track. We do have the same bike so I dont want to hear the 1000 scares you and is unmanagable....puss!
Motojoe_23 01-17-2006, 12:27 PM T-5 is a left.......... and a HARD left at that, should be EASY to get down on IMO (T-5 AMA, not sure if it is T-5 normally)
fassina4 01-17-2006, 02:01 PM I dont have them down by numbers but T-5 is a def. and T-16 ( the last turn before the straight is a def. Now I have hit a knee in T-1 going into the carousel but You have to be flyin, at least I was...I was also passing someone so I braked way late and had to sling it over. You can hit a knee is just about well every turn there with out much effort. i think the elvation changed helps out alot while doing this.
I take it back......I say Z(puss)gixxe(Y)R will only have one scuff on the right side but that will be because I will pick up a rock a scrape it up for him :twofinger
Motojoe_23 01-17-2006, 08:44 PM Yeah T-1 I have my doubts about.. but the others seem no problem at all. I am ready to see if the little 6 will power wheelie over the T-13?? bridge and out of T-5 going back to the alabama coaster !!!!!
Chango 01-18-2006, 06:42 AM The trick about getting your knee down in turn 5 is that it's such a slow turn. It's about a 30 mph turn, so getting a knee down isn't quite as easy as you might think. Do you get your knee down when doing u-turns? I have only bumped my knee a couple of times through turn 5.
Turn one is tricky because you have to be going really fast through it, and if you go too fast you overcook it (duh). On the plus side, the grass on the outside is fairly smooth. It could be smoother, but it's not too bad. Trust me on this...
The tricky bit about turn 15 (just before the front straight) is that you just got out of a hard right turn, so you have to really throw the bike over from one side to the other.
As for wheelies with the K5 600, an easy way to do one in turn 6 is to go way on the inside on the exit of turn 5 (it was the line I used to pass all the slow-ass 1000's that kept getting in my way), setting you up to still be way inside for turn 6, where there is a bumpy patch. If you go through 5 in 1st, you should hit the bumps at just the right time to loft that front end, if you're brave/crazy enough to do it. I was always too busy trying to relax and let the headshake run its course... I never even felt the front end getting light going over the bridge between 12 and 13. The "peak" isn't very sharp at all, and turn 12 isn't fast enough to get going fast enough to loft the front end very easily.
These are my own personal limitations, and your mileage will vary.
On a really twisted, techinal, and probably boring sidenote, there are 7 left turns (possibly 6 if you ride over the curbing in the 7-8 rollercoaster section) on Barber and 9 right turns. It's just that the rights are much longer.
ZgixxeR 01-18-2006, 04:06 PM They can talk shit all they want. We will see what happens when we get out there. I agree with Chango, I don't see many pros dragging knee in 5 and if they do it's not for long. They just touch it for a second. I am going to have fun.
Motojoe_23 01-18-2006, 04:59 PM I have photgraphed in T-5........ I see TONS of knee dragging in 5. It is not much different from Turn 8 at jennings, except your approach speed is WAY higher at Barber. Very slow turns kick ASS, but you better be carefull to not highside on the exit of a slow corner if you hit it at any speed.
As far as the t-13 bridge, I KNOW a supersport 600 can and will (I have photographed there too, but not sure if a mere mortal 600 will. It is not a "wheelie" in the sense a street guy or stunter thinks of it, but a few inches off the ground.
JakeUSAF 01-18-2006, 05:02 PM Went to sign up for the intermed. Saturday and it was sold out already. Not sure what to do now. Did we block off some slots or was it just first come.

Motojoe_23 01-18-2006, 05:06 PM And when I say "photographed" I mean standing in that turn ALL FUGGING DAY for VHS photography.
