Question for the ladies

you da man

How many of you ladies have a bike and you other half does not? Also, how many of you ladies have a bike and now your man has a bike because of you and/or your influence. Before my girlfriend and I got together a while back, she was doing some really good research on sportbikes to figure out what was best for her. We went on our first date on my bike (she didn't even know I had a bike) and the rest is history...I got her a pre-owned SV650 which she has completely tracked out with GSXR forks, shock, race glass and she did most of the work herself. She has pre-paid cash for the first black 2006 R6 :yumyum: to the dealership which will be her street bike. Regardless of whether my girlfriend and I got together she was bound and determine to get a bike and I think that is so cool. I took her to a trackday and she fell in love the performance riding side of sportbikes and got to talk other girl riders at the track vs. just the cruise around and hangout.

I actually met my girlfriend while she was taking the MSF class, and I was teaching it. She wanted to get a bike before we met.

my girlfriend talked me into getting a second bike (besides the harley)...she convinced me I needed a daily driver that wouldn't hurt my back (messed it up bad in the army) got good gas economy, and something I could have more fun on....so I got the gixxer...not really what she meant, she was talking about like a BMW RS1150 or something, but she likes it now, and has even recently piloted my gixxer, which she is in awe of....She's great!

I have 2 bikes. My man did not have a bike until I bought my second one then he decided to get one as well the next day..lol..Guess he figured it would be nice to get out and ride with me. The only bad part is he bought a cruiser ( 2005 Suzuki Boulevard M50) - it's nice and all but it's not a gixxer!

It is sometime difficult riding with cruisers. I always seem to get bored.

A little off topic but I have always wanted to have a g/f that rides. Women riders are few and far between around here. And finding a good looking one is next to impossible!http://stuntlife.com/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif

My new boyfriend rides a VFR900 and he rode before we met. I guess since I've started riding thats all the guys I date now. Just because thats how we usually meet at bike nights or riding in the mountains or where ever! I got my first taste of riding about 5 years back. I went to cali to visit my cousin and her boyfriend and their friends came over on their bikes. One guy gave me a ride on the back of his and ever since then I been addicted to bikes. I really didnt get one untill I met my last ex-boyfriend who works in a bike shop. I met him in a parking lot and we were together for 5 months before I got a bike. He didnt teach me to ride cause I asked him not to because he made me nervous. But thats how I got started!

I ride and bought my bike solo. The hubby really didn't have any interest in riding at all except that now he knows if he doesn't, he's never gonna see me!!! lol So now he's out looking. I told him to try to find a gsxr 750 since he's only been on dirt bikes, but he really likes the feel of a Katana, so he ight go for that too. Whatever he's comfortable with.

my girflriend doesn't ride and has no interest to ride either, I wish she did.... My wife is NOT happy about me deciding to ride. I compromised with her and gave her my word that when I get a bike I won't drive it on public highways, and will only ride in a controlled environment such as a track. I think that's a fair compromise. As much as I don't like to admit it, I feel that she does have a say in the matter, not only because of the financial reasons, but because I also have a responsibility to her as well.....

Sharing the passion to ride with your loved one is something unexplainable! My hubby and I have been married almost 10 yrs..We started riding together, He had a GSXR 1000 and I started out on my lil Katana, then as I got more confident I got a 1000 as well, We really enjoy the quality time we spend with our bikes. We watch a hell of alot of drama in our little crew between other couples where (and this is only within the group we ride with) only one person is a "Rider" and the other is just along for the ride. I really try to encourage some of the other girls to get there own, cuz I see alot of scared ass girls, and really they wouldn't be scared if they were in control of the ride and they would enjoy themselves a hell of alot more. Some times the worst thing that happens is an experienced rider scares the shit out of the passenger and then that is it for them I mean I have seen a couple chicks like "*uck it let me off I'm walkin you ***hole." Anyways sorry if I got side tracked but Tim and I started off riding together (he just jumped on the mean machine right off the bat  (1000) and I worked my way up the cc to my confident leval.

There is fun riding and enjoyment and then there is just stupid.... Tim and I have 2 kids and we know it is a risk EVERYTIME we get on our bikes due to the idiots out on the road, but we just ride responsibly and do what we can to be safe out there.

I was a rider and my bike was stolen, my husband bought me my 1krr as an engagement gift (i dont wear jewelry so its kinda my ring). Well, he got jealous of hte bike and we fought over it a lot, so I make a deal, I would take him out and teach him how to ride and if he liked it we would get him a bike, if he didn't I would sell my bike. The next week we bought him his Gixxer.

I had a '01 f4I sold it in '03 shortly after i met my girlfriend i took her for a couple of rides and then money talks so i sold it. Well last year she bought an '05 ninja 250 which isn't much but for someone who never rode before it would get her started now she is after a 600 after riding my gsxr 600 i was hoping she would want mine so i could get the 1000 but that hasn't happened yet

I've dated two women who rode sport bikes. Both got into it on thier own, with no influence from a guy. Gotta give credit where credits due. Besides, fastest non pro i've ever seen at the track was a woman :)

I've never had a boyfriend who tried to influence me into buying a bike. I rode some tandem stunts and fell in love with the thrill. I bought my 06' gixxer 750 after I stopped partner stunting and am now working on the courage to start stunting on my own. I got my mother to buy a bike (Honda shadow 600) and one good male friend is really interested in motorcycles b/c he is jealous of the enjoyment I get out of my bike.
