So I got a 2007 gsxr 600 and I was driving it back from school today on the highway. The engine shuts off and check temp and the red light comes on even though the temp on the bike showed 185 before shut down. Outside temp was in the 60s so it wasn't too warm. I had to wait 30 min before the light went away and the bike turned on. My best guess is that the coolant ran out and the engine overheated. I am going to flush out the coolant and put in new one tomorrow. Anyone know what might have happened?
No I didn't do any work recently but the bike was laid down going like 5 mph few months back. It did occur to me there might be a leak in the pipes. I will put in new coolant and watch for couple of days if I see any leakage.
ya I am pretty much a noob at bikes.lol. I got a friend who is works on cars and bikes so I got him to help me out tomorrow. He drives a suzuki boulevard. Those things are nice and amazingly loud.
